I had a fitting break off while greasing.

Used a easy out to remove.

At fist glance it looked like a 1/4-28 fitting. I have a lot of them that I bought in one of those zerk fitting kits. I could not get it started into the hole. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

After several trips to Department and Auto Part stores I stopped at the dealer and paid the going price. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I should have used your socket and drive them in method. It would have saved money and time. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Well...I tried what some of you suggested & it worked like lickety split. Took zerk off, tried pushing in on small ball of zerk. Resisted some what but then I got it to go in & out. Then tried to put grease through by putting zerk on end of grease gun nozzle. Grease went through no problem. Re-installed zerk and tried pushing grease through. Initially had same problem but just gave it a much harder push on the grease gun lever & it starting letting grease through. Got easier the more I put in. It was marvelous. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif The other 3 zerks were the same. Added great gobules of grease to the pins. When I have more time I think I will remove the pins & clean them up. Many thanks to all of you. I'm slowly learning.

Kozak,

Those two zerks are the most important of all on your FEL. Grease them very often!! They get dry the quickest because when you do loader work they are always down in the dirt.
