LURKERS

I would agree this site has been a great resource for realworld advice on attachments and what does and don't work, I spend quite a bit of time doing searches and looking at homemade attachments. As I have a degree in hard knocks and like to avoid the same mistakes other have made ie(thinkin my way is always better) Thus I enjoy all the projects others have shared, now I just need to take more pictures of my projects.

Yep, I was a lurker too for a few months. I am a newbie (120 hrs.) and this site has been nothing short of awsome. I have received tons of advice/tips. Before joining TBN I participated on a couple other tractor forumns (didnt know about TBN yet) but now that I do I have broken up w/ the others, I am a 1 forumn man now :D

If it wasn't for lurking on this site, I probably would have bought the wrong tractor for what I need on my small farm. I know for a fact that lurking has given me the knowledge to properly maintain my tractor (good example is the use of an anti-gel additive during the winter). Lurking here has also cost me more money since I probably wouldn't have heard of the goodies that can be purchased for my tractor! Love this site and I'm addicted.

I will also admit i spend alot more time lurking than anything but will post occasionally when i find a thread that i know a little about. This site has been a wonderful place to find out all kinds of info.

"There's a bunch of other forums where I've lurked for several years, but I signed up here pretty quick. Even though sometimes there's controversy and debate, folks are far more civil here than just about any other forum I've seen."

" echo civil"

Probably one of the nicest sites I visit.
Sure, I post a bit when I feel competant to help but I am not always 100% and have not been belittled as of yet.
I just hope I can help somewhat in return for all that I have learned.

Also must add this site is one of the most 'user friendly' ones I visit. (Bravo Mohamid)

Finally got back to this one, i have been lurking all day, can't help it.

I would like to say that this site has to be the best site their is, there is just so many places to go on this site, and a lot of great people.

I did not even know i was a member until 2 weeks ago, when i registered in my name. (SO I MUST HAVE BEEN A LURKER):D
back in Feb. 2005 i was out in my yard digging about 30 some holes
getting ready to plant different kinds of fruit trees, then i got off of my tractor went in the house for lunch, when i tried to start the tractor it wouldn't start, had no ideal what to do.

My wife said, do you want me to call the dealer, ha ha ha (NO) but i told her there is something you can do, log on to TBN and post that a JD 4300 was running fine a couple hours ago, but now it won't start, and the battery is fine, it has fuel. It might have been 15 minutes and post after post loaded up. stupid me it was a seat switch. ( TRACTORBYNET) to the rescue and no JD dealers.

When my wife logged in that day she opened it under JD4300,so from 2005 until two weeks ago i was a lurker, and still a lurker. This past Christmas i surprised my wife, daughter and son by getting everyone a laptop (ME TOO):D. We homeschool our kids and i thought it would be better to have them, for when were out of town or just sitting on the couch, not in an old office chair.

So about 2 weeks i decided to register on (TBN) with the user name
as JD4300, every time i tried the name it would say that name was being used, so my wife had to take (OVER). come to find out that name i was trying (WAS ME):D i had forgot about her posting in 05, and forgot she registered that name, (SO I WAS A BIG LURKER):D

Now my wife sits over there on homesteading.com telling me to come over and look at this picture, while i am across the room on TRACTORBYNET.com telling her to look at this picture.

I really think that this (IS) the best site.:D

Many thanks to the founder:D

BILL

*now back to some lurking*

Hi Everyone ! I spend more time on this site Lurking than posting. As someone said much earlier in this thread (paraphrase), "It's much easier to learn something new when your own mouth is closed!" I've only had my SCUT for about 6 months, before that it was garden tractor, and way before that it was Farmall C's and 200's on my Dad's farm. I sure do miss that easy 2-point hydraulic hitch on the 200...

I've found TBN to be a very informative and sociable site!

Thanks for posting.

Frank
