Kubota must have overlooked showing grease fitting in PC on steering shaft on a M9000HD. Does your M9000 open station tractor have rigid or tilt steering shaft?
Thanks,Jim

Rigid. Cab is tilt. Both have the same splined joint and grease fitting. Maybe later models are deleted. My OS is a 2002 and my cab is a 2004.

Easy to tell, just lift the 'bonnet' and look. I like that term 'bonnet'. 'Hood' sounds so caveman like....:D

Keep in mind that 2004 was the last production year for the M9000 with the 3300 TIE engine and squared off hood.. 2005 began the sloped hood models. In fact I had to special order my late 2004 as Kubota had ceased production. I waited (if I remember correctly), 5 months for it. My dealer had to do some wrangling with Kubota to get it. Was worth the wait though and I bought it completely optioned out so it's a 12 x 12 with a 540 / 1000 pto, cast centers, swinging drawbar and block heater factory. Been totally trouble free, well, other than the faded to Mary Kay pink paint.:laughing, but then the OS I own is also faded or was until last spring when I stripped and repainted it. Hopefully the Rustoleum Kubota Orange won't fade but we will see.

I think Kubota needs to add some more UV resistance to their paint.

Every once in a while I'll see a tractor where the paint just didn't hold up. My 2007 M isn't tending toward pink (thankfully!) but it's no longer the original orange either. Any kind of fading paint is a bit of a surprise today, especially since the Japanese industry is generally real good at paint. Their automotive paint doesn't fade. In fact, nobody's cars fade much. So there's no excuse for tractors to fade.

Maybe posting pictures of pink Kubotas will gently encourage Kubota to put some work into improving their paint.
A picture like that could go viral.

JD seems to make the best paint I know of. Our old 1958 model JD has lived outside for over half a century now and the paint is still an agreeable although chalky and somewhat lighter shade of green. Or is it that green paint just ages better than other colors? It does get a tarp over the seat and dash.... sometimes.

Mentioned that fact to my dealer before and he agrees. Kubota's fade to pink....lol

Was there yesterday and observed various shades of pink

Thinking it's time to start a 'Pink Kubota picture thread.....:D

I also have green equipment (JD). Their green fades to chalky green. Still green, not pink however.

New Holland Red and yellow also does the 'presto-changeo' color change. Especially the yellow.

Must be the UV rays from the sun. My cars never change however.

I think it's the contents of the paint more than the color. JD has the best paint of all tractor brands that I've saw.

Maybe someone can search this and post the data sheets of various paint, Kubota and JD specifically.

My 2009 Kubota M6040 is always parked out of the sun - it has not faded one bit. The OEM bucket that came with the tractor sits out on a pallet in the orchard. It has developed a chalk like light haze on the paint. I put a little Carnuba wax on a small spot. Wahlla - the original color returns.

Well, maybe Kubota did change their paint. Our 2008 M59 lives outside & is still orange. At 7000' In these mountains the sun is intense. It's definitely not the same glossy orange it as it was when new, but it's not pinking out either....

The biggest culprit of pinking has been the wheels. Especially the wheels made by Titan. I don't blame Titan. I blame Kubota for spec'ing the paint that Titan used.
