Kubota M9540
Gentleman-Really appreciate all the helpful advice here, been perusing for several weeks. I currently have a CaseIH Farmall 70 ROPS and since I'm getting a little older and it seems alot hotter, decided to get a cab tractor.
Looked at CaseIH 95, wasnt impressed (sorry), then decided on JD 5101e, priced em out at several dealers, but the more I looked at the JD the more I wanted to keep looking around, so started reading you guys posts about Kubotas, went and really looked hard at them for the first time and ended up really impressed, decided on an M9540 4wd with cab and 12x12, all the dealers had around here were the 8x8's, plus the new 9960 is coming out in a month or so, so the dealers upstate, etc that had the one I wanted wouldnt trade with my dealer which made me want one that much worse, LOL.
But my guy called me this morning, said he found a dealer about 300 miles away that would swap with him, so it will be here next Tue or Wed. Will have everything I want, the 12x12, radio/cd, brush guard, loader, big bucket, dual remotes, Grand Cab, hydro shuttle, hes gonna water the tires, etc. so I'm pumped, plus hes gonna take my Farmall in trade and I'm not taking too bad a whippin on the trade so all is good.
Sorry for the book- is there anything else you gents can think of that I should consider? Is it ridiculous to get the windows tinted? Appreciate any other advice. Adios

We are into our third summer with our M8540 set up just like yours. We even have the tires that come on the M9540 as that is how the dealer orders them since they are the same tractor. We have windshield wiper fluid in our tires.

We traded a 1998 Case CX80 in on ours that was nothing but trouble and took a beating.

I have considered tinting my windows too, but I am not sure I would like it that way.

I will be interested to hear other opinions.

Thanks for the reply TripleR, the one thing that I am a little worried about is how the A/C will hold up when its 105 and humid, hope its adequate.

I think I would consider tint under those circumstance. Mine does OK for me, but we rarely get that hot. When it does, I run mine on recirculate and it works OK as long as I keep the RPMs up, but when I drop down much the cooling is not really good with those temperatures.

Here is an interesting thread:

Outstanding thread about the A/C, thanks TripleR. Trook...it came out about $4800 less for the Kubota as compared to the JD 5101e.

Thanks Bluegill and Foreman, I appreciate it, hope its the last one I ever have to buy, I drove myself nuts making the decision as I'm sure everyone does.

At this point the Case '95 is an old tractor and yes, very unimpressive compared to newer tractors. In theory though it should be a lot less expensive and a very reliable basic tractor. I looked at one a few years ago and ended up with a New Holland.

I think you will really like the M9540.

Good job on getting the 12 speed! I always thought if I bought a cab tractor I'd tint the windows.

Depending on what implements you will be using, but you might want to consider getting the 3rd rear remote. You can never have enough remotes. ;)

Not sure if what is being referred to here is the window tint film or not, but if that is what you are considering, keep in mind that there should be no restrictions (as there might be for a motor vehicle operated on the road) - you can use any type.

I understand that the silver reflective tint has the highest rejection of infrared radiation ....

Yessir I was referring to the film, it is great in a pickup to reflect heat and glare, my concern on a tractor would be reduced visibility, but I guess the same logic applies to a pickup, bottom line is I will probably get it done unless someone convinces me otherwise!

Great choice on tractor. I will baling hay with my m9540 tomorrow in 90 degree heat no tint will see how it handles the heat so far no problems cab stays cool with fan setting staying on two kick up to three when reentering the cab then down to two again. That was all in high 80's low 90's.

Good deal Zscoop, let me know how it does tomorrow baling, the only reference I have with the A/C was in the dealers lot and it didnt get real cool, but I also realize it cools better when the RPMs are up and it is moving.
