Okay guys, checking in with you with my first update. I did invest in the Sitrex sm230p finishing mower attachment for my brother痴 Kubota tractor. I can稚 tell you much about the darn thing except that so far the yard looks pretty nice after it has been cut. It is the rainy season here in Florida so a cut only last about six days and then the yard starts to look neglected again. I can稚 tell you a thing about how the tractor drives or how it feels or maneuvers with the attachment because I have not even had the opportunity to even touch the darn thing. Trust me. I am not complaining. It has been more than an effective purchase for me because my brother has been taking advantage of the tractor time. He gets a break from the house, the wife, the kids and he gets nothing but accolades from his Sis and his Mom. I just hope it takes a long time for the newness to wear off. So far it has been the best $680.00 that I have ever spent. I guess it works okay because my brother has not complained and the yard looks great! Of course I can稚 complain since it is one less thing that I have to do. Thanks again for all the help, advice and support that I received from you wonderful gentlemen.

Way to go Lynda! Sounds like a win, win situation so far. Was your brother able to mow the back 40 with the finish mower?

MissLynda:

We have all been somewhat remiss :( in that no one really welcomed you to TBN. So Welcome to TBN :D! I am glad that you with (TBN suggestions) were able to create a "win-win" for you and your family. I also want to thank you for your eloquent descriptions of the "models of men" :D. It is making my day today :D! Thank you for your posts and keep the posts coming- Jay

My nickels worth:

I think I would call the local extension agent and see if the state or county does brush burns. I had the county burn off some land in Brooksville years ago, once you burn the junk off then you can see what you have to deal with and clean up as you wish. The native grasses will come back in a couple of months with a vengence.
