I have a L3710 that I'm planning to trade or sell sometime later this year (when funds are right). The tractor has 704 hours on it. I should obviously try and keep as many hours off the tractor as possible, but I was wondering if there was some value to hour "brackets"? Like mileage on used cars. Example, 0-200 hours = +10% to the value, 200-500 = average value, 500-1,000 = -10% to the value, 1,000-over = -20% to the value ect..... Anyone every hear of something like this?

This is my only tractor, so I have to use it some to get things done, but I'm finding myself watching the hour meter and wondering about the above example....:confused2: I'd hate for 750 to be some thresh-hold and I'm at 751 at trade in time.

What yal think?....

I would not worry about the exact number of hours, because if I was buying I am more concerned about the overall shape of the machine. If it looks like it has had a rough life then expect that to be the major desiding factor. For all I know maybe the hour meter was replaced under warranty at 300HRS.

You only have 700 hours at this time on a machine that is several years old. That is low hours. If you add another 100-200 hours, it would still be considered low hours. I would not give any sigificant thought if the tractor had 700 vs 850 hours if I was a buyer or seller. An 800 hour, eight year old tractor is worth more than a 2000 hour, eight year old tractor but the the difference may only be $1000.

I would use it all that you want. The hours you use are much more valuable than those you sell. I doubt a couple of hundred hours would make much difference in the sales price.

A tractors hours are getting high when they get to 7000 not 700. Ken Sweet

use the tractor all you want an dont worry bout the hours.the resale value is based on what it looks like how its been treated.an how its been maintained.i know a guy that has 1100hrs on his tractor.but i wouldnt buy it because i know it has probs.
