The local dealer here quoted 64k for RC100 w/ forestry, and 34k for gyro w/ extra set of teeth, hoses, and belt. Seems kind of high, haven't done any haggling though. Looks like all of the companies using carbides are figuring out that tractors in 100hp range perform better w/ sharp knives. A guy in my area using rc100 w/ gyro said he is getting around 200 hrs out of his teeth, this seems a little unrealistic listening to what yall have said, but he seems like an honest guy. Is anyone on here actually using a gyro. At 1/3 the price of most carbides, seems like you could afford to replace teeth on gyro a little more frequently, and be able to cut faster too.

Groundhawg,

Doesn't the Gyrotrac HD500 cost almost twice as much as a Fecon Bull Hog BH74SS? I was just quoted $18,916 by a local dealer for a BH74SS.

I just don't see how I'd be better off spending an extra $15,000 for the Gyrotrac head just so I could purchase less expensive steel blades for it then I would purchasing carbide teeth for the Bull Hog head. Sure, a set of new blades for the Gyrotrac are less expensive then new teeth for the Bull Hog, but the steel blades don't last as long as the carbide teeth either.

Gamma, 73-75 would have been a steal around here
73000 total
-27000 head
- 6000 protection pkg
= @ $40,000 for a full cab RC-100 with AC/Heat, hydraulic attachment attach, and bucket.
Sounds almost too good to be true, or maby I was robbed.
The only way I found one cheaper was in GA where i could possibly cheat Uncle Sam out of his share, but where would I get good service? Have the '08s hit the floor yet? was your quote for an '06? what part of the country? Yes 15K diff is VERY high and off track. Guess I'll just have to work a few extra hours a week for the next year recoup my loss.:(
Well at least the work is steady if I could get a dry day to catch up. Getting more behind with all this wet stuff from TX.

DirtyWorks,

When I spoke with the salesmen, I told them both that I wanted the COMPLETE brushcutting & forestry package. One of them came back with a quote of $54,695 for the RC100 & $18,916 for the Fecon head all for a total of $73,611... and they were going to include a 72" ASV bucket too. The second quote came back at $75,600 and didn't include a bucket.

Those are really good prices, good to know how low a dealer can go, before buying. Guess the dealers around here are way over-charging. Fecon man quoted 23k for bull hog and that was w/ out any spare parts. If I could get it for 18 that would definitely be hard to pass up. Would you mind giving the name of your dealer, and location? Maybe I could get a quote faxed, and use it to get my dealer's price down!:D

This is one bad mutha! Today i ground alot of 20"+ pine stumps and stuff I would have normally went around. My production went up almost 2-1 and the final product is amazing!

Wow Dirty W, that looks good. How are those teeth holding up so far? I would think those small Allen bolts would shear after some time but I'm no engineer.
And what's the secret for more HHP? and how does it effect the engine and hyd pumps? Does it run hotter? I'm always game for a litttle tweak to my set up...;)
