mahindra 10 series buyer beware

When I had clutch issues fingers were pointed by other forum members at me and the dealer. Turned out to be a Mahindra issue. (Can I say that here?) I think I am right behind Justin.

Out of here

Might as well throw my opinion in - I too had problems earlier this year - 4110 broken bolts, and I too was hot-headed for awhile and my tractor wasn't even still in warranty. I blew-off my steam on this site and got some good responses from members and eventually got some real help from Mahindra, just took a little time and calls & emails. Mr. Startz was instrumental in helping me get some satisfaction and I'm a happy camper overall again. I know how frustrating it is when you seem like no one cares about your problem(s) and that your money has been spent and you're not getting what you think you paid for. Sounds like to me that your dealer is your biggest roadblock, I would try to contact Mr. Startz directly to see what he says about it. Haven't seen him on here for awhile, hopefully he's still in his prior position with Mahindra - what he was doing for the company is exactly what they needed. Hope you don't drop-out of this site - we would all like to know what happens in your case and this site is also a wealth of info. for all kinds of things equipment related - I've learned a tremendous amount cruising the various discussions and I'd like to think a couple of my posts have offered some info. to someone else. Any info. you post in the future is bound to be helpful to someone as well.

Let's make a leap here and say Mahindra is at fault for the non-starting problems. What the heck then keeps the dealer from making his customer happy and getting the tractor up and running? Nothing, that is what prevents the dealer from getting this tractor fixed.

IMO, the poster is getting the run-around from the dealer, who doesn't want to make good on the problems.

The dealer did not engineer, design, nor build the tractor! How is it a leap that it's Mahindra's fault for the starting problem? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
So geuss that means that if I buy a new truck and it won't start it's the dealer's fault?

Still no profile, no dealer name, no location. Hmmmm. Methinks, you should rectify....BobG in VA

I agree, lets have it, lets all see who the dealer is and put a little pressure with a phone call,
My father always said theres two sides to every tale.

It is the dealer's fault that the dealer's customer's tractor is sitting in his garage and not running. Any dealer worth his salt would have had the tractor running.

Agreed that any kind of a dealer would have the tractor running, even if he sold it at cost he should have it running. If Mahindra won't supply the parts then he should buy them. That's what good dealers do!
That said put yourself in a dealers shoes. You keep having problems with a product you sold someone and you aren't getting support from the persons who made it.
IMHO $500 toward another new tractor is not the solution. I have had nowhere near the problems that this guy has and I wouldn't take that deal. Just because I don't want another Mahindra and I'm sure that's how he feels.
Perhaps there are some Mahindra dealers out there who carry other brands that Mahindra could work with and get this guy a deal on another color. That way they are out of it and the customer is happy. Further problems would be on another dealer and manufacturer.
Wow that's a huge stretch even as I read it. Probably no way it could happen, but I thought I'd throw it out there. There has got to be a workable solution here.

This and some of the other points in justin's post are what lead me to think there is more to the story regarding the dealer's relationship with Mahindra.
I would like to see Mahindra provide another dealers name to justin to get his tractor repaired, however, without his profile filled out it's hard to know his location to see if it is even possible.
I would also like to justin (and everyone else) stick around and keep their problems posted on the forum so we can see how they get resolved. It benefits us all.

This is what I would do. Get all your paper work in order and write down everything you can remember from talking to your dealer (to keep it fresh in your memory). Now, Find another dealer and tell them what problems your having with your tractor and see what they can do for you. Even if you have to pay to have it transported. Your no starting problem is probally a simple fix. Might be just a bad battery since you say it won't hold a charge.
I've been reading this forums for awhile and think alot people feel your pain and want help. Don't give up It may just take awhile.
Good luck
Tony

Justin did you get my pm?
You will have to replace a relay under the hood in front by the battery to fix the charging problem and also the starting problem will more than likley be the hst pedal safty switch.
We just did the same on a 2810 in our shop that had the same problems.
