Mahindra 2015, Cub Cadet 7205 Electrical Problem?

I posted this note in the Cub Cadet Forum and since the 2015 is the same machine I wanted to address it here also.


I was working outside today and turned the tractor off while I was loading the carryall with split rail fencing. When I went to start it back up, I turned the key, it energized and then it quit. No power at all to the panel, lights, etc., except that I could hear a slight buzz when I moved the turn signals.

I checked battery, fuses, line fuses, etc. No joy, still as dead as a doornail. Any thoughts or ideas on where to go from here would be much appreciated.

Do your headlights come on? Have you cleaned and tighten the battery cables?
Have you checked the PTO lever to make sure it's in the off position.

by any chance did you knock the pto lever?
I think those have a safety switch that won't let it start if the PTO is engaged.
(I know mine does, but it's a bit bigger)

Here's the solution guys. I had cleaned and tightened the battery terminals after checking the fuses. Then put the battery charger on. After your postings I went out to check the charger and found that it was "charged" . Then for the heck of it I turned the key. Same result, energize then dead. That sent me back to the battery and the cables.

I found that even though I had tightened the bolts on both cables the bolt on the positive terminal had broken in half and was just tightening to one side of the terminal. Put a clamp on to test and voila off she went. Success....
