Hello Everyone! Great Site!
I am thinking about purchasing a new Mahindra 2615 tractor with loader. I would like input about this tractor good and bad. Was quoted $13900 at my local dealer. Is this a Good Price? How does this tractor compare in size and power to other brands? Thanks for any feedback you can give me.

I've had my 2615HST w/ loader for about two and a half years now. Your price seems about right. Mahindra USA has a price listing and the price you quote is under MSRP. I think its a great tractor. A friend of mine just purchased the same model w/ loader two months ago for about the same price. In my area the JD and MF similar sized tractors were much more $. I have no complaints so far.

I'm in Indiana. The price I was quoted was for a 2615 gear, $13,900. Another dealer in the area quoted me $15,125 for the same tractor. Thanks for the replies

George what do you use your tractor for?

I was looking at the Mahindra 2015, 2615 and Kioti CK20, CK25; all geared 4wd's. On paper I was convinced the 2615 and the CK25 were worth the extra price, but this was my first tractor and I didn't have any real praticle experience. I hadn't even ever driven one. I'd sit on different tractors at the dealership, but really couldn't decide. Knowing me I probably would have gone for the best deal. Which I did. This used (30 hrs) 2615 HST just fell into my lap. It was such a good deal I had to take it. And in retrospect, I sure am glad I got the bigger model. I've only put on 17 hrs and I already know this. And, I have really begun to appreciate having the HST transmission. There is a lot to think about if you are a newbie operator, especially if you are working on any kind of slope. HST just makes it that much easier and might possibly even be safer. I'm real happy with the 2615. About the only thing I'd change if I were buying new is I might have gone witht the Ag tires instead of the Industrial.

In the 17 hrs I've used the tractor I've gotten all kinds of things done. I box scraped a couple acres and dragged around a section of chain link fence to make it look all nice and even. I've done some loader work and other odd jobs I've ignored for the last 16 years. I am now in the process of clearing the so called "south forty". Roughly 4 acres of buck brush, digger pines, oak trees, rocks and a lot of uneven ground. It's been a lot of fun just clearing a path for access and safe passsage. The only 2615 limitation I seen so far is pulling the brush with a chain attached to the hitch. Sometimes those tires just want to spin. I seem to have much better luck pushing the brush out with the loader.

Matt does the tractor seem to have plenty of power for its size? And have you tried filling the rear tires with fluid to gain more weight for traction?

I've had my 2615 Gear for around two years and have just over 200 hours on it (not that much). I've dug out large Douglas Fir stumps with it, dragged large trees with it, Brush hogged, Tilled, plowed snow, etc. It has good weight, and enough power for it's size.

The PTO power will bog down in really thick tall (4'-5') field grass with a 5' Brush Hog. It would probably be nicer to have a 3015 but I think the few times I've had to slow down a little haven't justified the extra expense.

I'm amazed at how well the loade bucket has stood up but I do have a toothbar on it during most of my rough work and I did weld on some extra metal this year just to be on the safe side.

I haven't loaded the tires as I like to keep it light for driving across the nice lawn. It hasn't really needed the extra weight in most cases. I keep a dirt pile around so I can always fill the bucket with dirt if I need weight for tugging on things.

Filters are expensive.

KMW Loader paint fades too easily.

Maintenance work is easy to perform.

In general I think it is a great tractor for the 5-10 acre property owner.

IMO, I would not say it has "plenty" of power for it's size. I'd say it has "just enough" power for its size. I would not want a 2615 HST if I was planning to do a lot of thick brush hogging or PTO torque intesive work. Just my opinion though.

Remember that with more weight you can do more damage to nice areas of your yard. If you plan to drive across your nice lawn on a wet day you could be adding some big ruts.

Unless you need to finance the whole thing up front then I would hold off on adding the weight until you have used it for a while. You can always add it later if you need it. For it's class the Mahindra xx15 series is already pretty heavy.
