HI

Does anyone have a computer programme where you can record the maintenance on your tractor and other bits of mechanical kit as well as scheduling in the next service? If you do, whats its name and where can you get hold of a copy. preferably foc/shareware as I have a wife and "kids" sorry i mean Kubota to support) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

thanks

Just use Excel, or get a cheap notebook. I use a note book for recording oil/filter changes, grease jobs @ Hours and date (probably most frequent entry) and any other maintenance.

You sure don't need anything too extravagant

I've been using Microsoft Works (several versions) for years for word processing, database, and spreadsheets, so I just created my own spreadsheet for the tractor maintenance, just as I do for my car and truck.

There used to be website that kept such info for you. I used it a couple of years back. Was setup for auto's but wouldn't be any different.
Just entered the data, no setup (other than listing your vehicles)
Try a google search.

I have a pretty low-tech approach (a 3-ring notebook). I photocopied the maintenance checklist from the owner's manual, making several copies of the page. Each time I do the servicing, I use a page as a checklist. There's enough space on the page to note date, hours on meter, and additional items.

I also copied the maintenance section of the manual and put it in the book. This keeps the original manual safe from greasy fingers, and it's easier to flip through the pages..................chim

I just simply use a permanent (sharpie) type marker and write on the underside of my hood with what (oil/filter) and when (hours/date) maintenance was done. I try and follow what is in the operator’s manual as to the schedule.

HI Guys

Thanks for your info. I have used a couple of these ideas before - I have written the hours on the filter when it was changed in permanent marker - and made up a "maintenance" schedule which was an A4 sheet of paper with all of the required service items on which could be used as a checklist. However these have one shortcoming, ie that they do not jump out of nowhere and hit me on the head to say "get on with the servicing now", as I tend to forget to look at the reminders, and only discover that I should have looked a couple of months ago when I remember to look! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Hence the need to investigate a programme which pops up a reminder say a couple of weeks before I need to actually do the work. I will try the google search but in any case thanks for all your valued input.

regards
