The brakes may be taking the thread way off topic, but I do find humor in the fact that when I'm doing BH work (surface that is, now that I've modified my tilt bar for extra angle I sink the bucket for any BH digging applications), I envy the positive lock, yet 422 users probably envy the instant brake on/release my 2445 has!
Anyway, my manual specifically says that the machine has much more torque than the brakes will hold.
I don't think PT has any legal issues; however this is another topic, I think a "user compiled" manual could better discuss how best to utilize the system [or, though the brake system is one thing I'm not touching beyond PT specified maintenance, modify it] for particular needs.
