This post reminds me of a girl I am in college with, obvious she is on the Lets SMOKE POT side of things. In Speech class she was saying that if the USA made pot legal and taxed it at 10% we could pay off our national debt in 10 years lol. I laughed really good at that one, and TRIED to give her a
little math lesson. Nope she was RIGHT she knew all about it and that smarter people had run the numbers :/ If that is what Smokers have to say then I'm on the side of lets tax it 100% and pay it on in one year lol. She was still saying it would work as we would save SO MUCH $ by NOT chasing the potheads that we could cut law enforcement in half & that that savings also would lead to trillions of dollars saved in pay to cops... I'm sure a lot of LEO would get a kick out of that. I'm sure by her thought patterns that POT DOES indeed cause Brain Problems in many forms...

EDIT IN, I had to explain that each and every person (man woman and infant) would have to smoke enough Pot to be taxed and pay $54,000.00 to pay off the debt IF interest and deficit spending stopped. She miffed and said that's not true, so I had to explain the Debt and Deficit spending & interest to her. I think I bummed out her day lol

It's inherent in being an EMT and/or LEO that you are going to see the worst of the worst. People who quietly do a little of this or a little of that on the weekend never come across your radar, unless they are very unlucky (e.g. searched at a traffic stop). I don't mean to invalidate your experience. There are absolutely a lot of people with substance abuse problems, who started with "light" drugs like alcohol and pot, and who progressed to overdosing on something harder. An EMT/LEO who sees these people confirms to us that it can happen, but tells us nothing about how often it doesn't happen, because when it doesn't happen, by definition, the EMT/LEO is unaware.

Very true but you never know who will be the one to progress, and who will bury a son or daughter. And to tell you the truth I have seen way to many. I guess there are several ways to look at it. I'm thankful that so far my children haven't fallen to pier pressure. And every time I see a needless death I thank God that they haven't and pray they don't.

What is the difference between a dopehead and a pothead?
Is a pothead anyone who smokes a joint?
I suggest that referring to potheads as dopeheads is unfair to the potheads as potheads are fairly innocous.

bottom line is weed is no different than alcohol. an abuser will abuse. I drink only, but I've had a few mornings I wished I smoked instead.

JMO...if pot was legal I think they should use part of the tax money to fight the crack/meth crimes...I've never heard of anyone committing a crime so they could buy marijuana...

Just to sidetrack this conversation. I was filming in Hawaii back in the very late 1990's and we were working out of a regional airport on Maui. Sitting with the tower guys and our helicopter and plane take off and I am spinning my wheels. Well, in comes this really slick helicopter with blue and red. Budwieser colors. It is way nicer than the other machines. I ask ATC about whos it is and they say it s the cops and it is the helicopter they use to find illegal grow fields. I say "your cops have a **** of a budget and what about the colors" ATC says it is on loan from Budweiser.

It was at this moment I realized who really has an issue with Pot. I don't smoke it, never have, but I now fully support the legalization (and have since I found this little kernel of info out).

Bid Pharma probable gave them one also.
