A little over two weeks has passed and I have been commuting back and forth to work with this truck. I keep waiting for something drastic to happen but so far so good. In the last 2+ weeks I have driven close to 800 miles and changed the oil and filter twice. Oil is still very dirty with each change. I am assuming the very dirty oil is due to the detergents in the oil cleaning up the insides of the engine.Had my brother check the compression in each cylinder. He said they are all well within specs and close to each other. The PCV valve and crankcase vent are okay.Oil pressure and engine temperature have stayed consistant. This morning I am going to change the oil and filter again. I have kept the filters but STILL have not gotten around to dissecting them.
Still no more sticking valves though YAY!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Not sure....
My brother said it sounded like sticking valves.

Remarkably the truck is still running.
I must say I had my doubts but I am firmly convinced the Marvel Mystery Oil has done wonders.

By the way... I have been changing the oil every 1000 miles and it is now pretty clean (slight discoloration).
Any thoughts on using a quart of MM Oil in all future oil changes in my vehicles?

If you have had good luck with using "MMO", I don't see that it would cause any problems. Go for it.

Why add ANY additive to your engine oil? Any engineer you speak with at an oil company will tell you that modern quality oils have a great additive package in them. Why contaminate it with an additive???? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Oil company engineers may say that, but I do know that BMW suggests the use of Redline SL-1 additive periodically. I'm confused too! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I recently got back into the radio control car game. While reading thru the owners manual of my new Traxxas T-Maxx, they specifically recomend Marvel Mystery Oil or WD40 as an after run oil for the nitro motor. The engines run on 10-40% nitro with balance being methanol and the oils remove the moisture and methanol left in crankcase when engine is shut down. It's amazing, they're getting almost 2hp out of a .15 cubic inch motor at 30,000rpms with a redline of 50,000.
