Massey 1758 Hyro Transmission Oil Issues

My remote is always in neutral. It resets to neutral. Don't have float on it. The racket in my cab if the remote lever was bumped one way or the other would make the tractor undriveable! It would drown out the radio! My MF1643 was the same way. If the remote lever wasn't positioned in neutral, the whine would have been intolerable! I don't have an overheating problem. I have a loss of reverse problem after approximately 4 hours of continual operation.

I'm guessing that leaving it in float is a temporary fix till a new valve can be ordered ?

I've still never experienced this on my 1648 or 1652... I don't it has anything to do with the engine (Mitsubishi vs Shibaura vs Iseki, etc). To me it seems like there must be a restriction in the hydro system, and some new restriction that has changed since the 16xx series.

Is this happening ONLY on HST units and not Gear/Shuttle machines?

They changed valve manufacturers a week and a half after they made my tractor. New valve on order and another 150 mi. on the trailer.

Have you used the original valve at all with any cylinders on any equipment, just curios if it was making the cylinders move while in " neutral " position if so?

No, I only use it for the 3 point and an 8 ft. mower. Rep accidently bumped valve and temperature went up. Went back to factory and found out they had bad valves.
