Whats the point! if one sell a tractor and makes 2000.00 or if he needs to move a tractor becouse it old stock and lossed -300.00

Yep....in this day and age, everyone is an expert on how to run a business. I am with you MASSEYDEALER....it ain't nobodies business what the dealer makes. If the price fits the buyer, and the product they are purchasing is what will fill their needs....then why should they even have the temerity to question how much was made on the deal..

I'm like everybody else out there, I want a great deal. But lets say I sell 40 tractors and mark them up $2000.00 ea for E/Z math that $80000.00 Okey. My taxes here are 10000.00 a year in the city on a main RT. Then my insurence is 12000 a year. Massey charges me about $6500.00 a year for there parts lookup and there advertising, you get the drift. I could go on and on and on.

Are you suggesting that you are NOT in business to provide a free service to anyone and everyone? Are you suggesting that profit is NOT a bad thing? Then I say to you.....GOOD FOR YOU!!! I wish for you that you make as much profit as you can. That because of your profit you can hire more technicians and salespersons, and bookkeepers. I wish for you PROFIT...so that some single parent can get a job with you and make enough money to send their child to college!!! I wish for you PROFIT....so that some struggling provider for a family has a job with you and can afford to buy food for their children, buy new clothes for their spouse, buy a new car....in other words make this economy work.

Good for you!!!! Oh and by the way, I love the Massey Ferguson tractors. However I love the older ones more than the newer ones. I have two, a 65 and a 165. I guess I like to hear gears grinding when I shift, and feel like I am king of the world, muscling the things around my place....

May 2008 be a great year for your business!!!!

I would say I real like the 65 and 165 too. Agco is doing a good job coming with new part for the older tractors. My Agco part TM said Agco is finding out there is good money in parts on these older tractors. They will be bring back more parts. This will help people keep those old Massey going even longer.

I am so happy to hear they will be adding to the heritage line. We have a MF(FE) 35 that will be getting a full resto once we get another tractor. Do you know if they still carry the front axle mount for the Perkins diesel, 3152.

Thanks,

Will

Where abouts in Ontario are you? We have an FE35 with a 4 cylinder standard. Parts aren't to bad to come by, I have some contacts if you need some things.

Oh yeah, got off topic in the last post. Haven't tried the Kioti, but they don't look like a bad machine. I have a MF 1547 cab and loader, and love it. My next door neighbour has a Kubota L4710, and there are a lot of similarities. The Kubota has a little more fit and finish, such as window defrosters in the rear and corner windows, cloth seat and interior, and that stuff accounts for some additional costs over the Massey, but i'd pay more for the defrost, but i'll keep my vinyl, it's easier to clean. The cab on the John Deere is comfortable, but very small, the Massey is like a house, but requires more, larger storage, and I wouldn't give you a dime for a NH/Case IH. They look like a Frankenstien project gone wrong, and withmost New Holland stuff the loader arms are to long putting the load to far out front, and losing on lift capacity. I'm not sure if the 1533 has it, but the 1547 has lift assist on the three point hitch, and my tractor will lift over 3000lbs, more than any other tractor in it's HP range. And like it's been said before, dealer support. I bought my Masseys because my dealer came to my house and sat down to talk about my purchase, instead of just calling and telling me the price. We did have some issues over the hydraulics on the tractor, and he wasn't really supporting me the way I would have liked, but he seems a lot better since I bought my JD 2305. I don't think he appreciated the loss of sale. Hope this helps, it's just my opinion. I'd buy a Massey again, it's in my blood.

I have a Kioti CK25 Gear. A brute of a tractor. I did like the comparable MF's. But the weight and hydraulics swung me to the CK.

With the BobCat joint venture, and over 20 years of success in America, Kioti will be around for many years to come.

I like tractor shopping! There are so many nice tractors, it's hard to decide.
