Max 24 HST fuel pump specs.

Hi, new to this forum.

I have a 2014 Max 24 HST, I am trying to find the fuel pump specs (i.e.: psi/kPa, gpm/lpm) for the Mitsubishi S3L2-W412RH engine in it. The fuel pump part number is 31A60003000.

I want to try to diagnose the fuel pump instead of replacing it at a price of $300.00 (+/-). to see if is what is causing my bogging down problem.

I have already changed the fuel filter and drained the bottom of the fuel tank until I only got clean fuel. I also use a biocide & Biodor MD.

I would appreciate any help.

"until I only got clean fuel ". So that means there was algae / trash in there ? Its best to stop bacteria growth BEFORE it starts. If you have black / brown goo in there the Biobor JF will kill it after 2-3 days how ever it still must be flushed out. With a low fuel level, see if you can take a look in there with a cheap bore scope. And after the tank and lines are cleaned then you should put new fuel filter(s).

I have the Service and O&M manuals for the S3L and it has every spec and detail imaginable, except the specs for the fuel pump. It does sort of imply that if you have the diaphragm pump, disconnect it from the injection pump and turn the key. Should have flow and clicking sound. No flow and clicking check filter or fuel line blockage.

Thanks R134a, "clean fuel" means no water, brown stuff or trash which was as soon as I removed the clamp from the fuel line.

doneill127 - Thank You, from what I can tell my S3L2 has the non-serviceable plunger style fuel pump on it. I have several different S3L manuals that I have found online and none of them have the fuel pump specs.

You're overthinking this by a wide margin. If you suspect a fuel pump problem and want to get around a $300 OEM replacement (ridiculous price by the way) just bypass it with a generic electric pump with standard fuel hose and see what changes. Specs are really unimportant in this case. I've done that hundreds of times and will continue to do so.

Do like Harry says and get 1 no more than 12 psi..

Picked up a "generic" fuel pump designed for a Kubota D722, same wiring, shape, size and basic engine specs. It bolted right in place of the oem.

It did the job, everything is working correctly now.
