Me and my Branson...dreaming of a white xmas

It's a little past 10 am, we have about 4" in Floyds Knobs In. (20 min north of Lou. Ky.). The rear blade on the Branson is looking hungry. My oldest daughter and I got the sleds and the go-kart ready last night. The go-kart does surprisingly well in the snow it's
a two seater with a 150cc motorcycle motor with a solid rear axle and rear tires that are about ten inches wide. I usually pull her around the farm and she (7yrs old)can't get enough of it. I hope I can get down the hill to get to work in the morning, it sounds like we could see 12" or more by tomorrow.Well I think I will go play, I mean work with the tractor a bit.

Sorry to hear of the snow storm -- they are calling for 56 degrees tomorrow here in Maryland. Maybe we'll get lucky and have NO snow all winter!

Good luck with that doozy, Pete. Your daugher sounds like my youngest. It's amazing how different kids can be in the same family. Our oldest was always cautious, easily frightened, a bit afraid to try risky things, etc. while the youngest was full speed ahead and ignore the torpedoes. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I don't think she was ever afraid of anything.

Mike, I'll never forget my son getting "cocky" about how well the gocart with knobby tires got around in the snow...until one day he flew off the bank into some deep stuff and pretty well buried it. The kids would drive the cart around with a saucer in tow, and get up to speed and do doughnuts.....swinging the rider around. They then started pulling each other over obstacles like small ditches. Didn't take long for the dishes to be all banged up. It was a big game to them to give each other the "wildest ride". They also tried this with their regular sled. I think I still have one with the runner bent at a 45 deg angle. Enjoy the moment.

Dave....I think you have a case of snow envy....hee , hee. Don't kill my Norman Rockwell moment here. We don't get these often.

a picture of a Jay in a dogwood tree.....quality not so good, but although ornery creatures, they are nice to look at.

I tried plowing at 11 this am. and about 14 inches. Gave up after about 20 minutes as I was looking like a snowman. First time my 3035 has been wet since I have had it except for wash jobs.
The county just hit our roads.
Happpy Holidays to all.

We have about 8 inches now, I plowed my drive, My brothers and
my mom's. The county road dept. has only been over our road once which was early this morning, So I also plowed our street.
We live on a dead end and doubt we would have recieved mail
if I haden't. This was the first snow the new Branson has seen and
it handeled it well. The white stuff just keeps falling.

I'm envious...rain expected in the Northeast tomorrow...warm enough to wash the car today!...sunny too about 40.

Hoping we'll have some white stuff so I can practice with the backblade...first time using it on snow.

Merry Xmas to all

Well, it is snowing like crazy here in central Arkansas. Started about 1 o'clock. We already have more than they were predicting. The only trouble is that I am in the city, and the new tractor is in the country, and I was not planning to get back up there until the day after Christmas. If I get snowed in so that I can't make the Christmas trip to the in-laws in the motorhome, I am sure that I can make it back up to the country with the four wheel drive. (Here's hoping!)

Yep, been snowing most of the day here, too, but with the temperature only down to just barely freezing so far, we don't have a lot of accumulation. It's that forecast for a low of 17 to 19F tonight that I don't like. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif And I wish it was snowing vertically instead of horizontally, too. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
