I was at the kubota dealer here in CT yesterday and he showed me a brochure
on the new Bx 2650. The brochure points out metal fenders metal hood.
The dealer said the whole new line of Bx's will have them in the spring. Guess I will wait for the new bx24 which I'll bet will be called the Bx26

Not long ago, there was a thread that discussed this topic.

I believe one of the dealers on this board confirmed that only the BX2650 model had the metal components...

The 'new' BX24 will only be the BX26 if they decide to use the larger engine to power it!!!

This Dealer was sure about the metal hood and fenders being on the whole line he said it was because the customers were complaning about them.
He also said the price will be about the same.
I should have photo copied the sheet but what I remember the only diffrence was the seat ,the bigger engine, bigger radiator and the metal body panels.
Does the bx2350 have a bigger engine then the Bx24? No
so why would the new bx2650 have a bigger engine then the backhoe model?
I guess we will have to wait and see but it seems every year they try and improve this hot model, Bx22,Bx23,Bx24 all with one hp less then the model number. This salesman had a the 2650 brochure still in his brefcase as he recently got back from a Kubota meeting. That was the only thing he had on the new Bx line but he did say the whole line will be updated.

Actually the brochure is for the new BX2660 at 25.5 gross HP, and while you are correct about the promise of a metal hood for the rest of the BX series, there are no definitive dates or serial numbers of when the change will take place.
There were/are no plans announced to change the HP on any of the other models including the BX24 which will remain at 23 Gross HP.
KTC is constantly updating and improving the lines that they offer, but the model numbers only change when there is a significant difference.
As pertains to model numbers vs HP there is no hard and fast rule there, just a loose guide. The B74-75-7610 and B7800 certainly are NOT 70+ HP tractors.

... maybe that's not a part of the line where customers have been asking for hp options??

Seems to me that the BX24 is the top of the Bx series and the most powerful now equal to the 2350, I could be wrong but you would think if they were going to replace the Bx2350 which has no backhoe with a bigger HP they would do the Backhoe model too.
Are there attacments that would require more Hp on the Bx2350 or the 2650? that one would use if they didn't have a backhoe?
I'm not trying to be a wise guy just trying to understand why not the Bx24 with a bigger engine for more power to the backhoe or attachments.
I now own a B7200 and would like to get a BX24 with backhoe to replace it. But I would sure hate to have them update right after I buy it.

There is no need for 26Hp in a subcompact. Find me someone who complains about a BX2350 being underpowered!

Don't plan on seeing metal fenders on any other model any time soon. Its going to be way, way out. I'd guess new models in two years or somthing... not a rolling change to todays tractors. The plastic fenders have not been an issue for a long time now. There is no dire reason to change.

As for the BX24.. adding the upgrades comming to the BX2660 would push the BX24 into the price range of the B2320 thats comming shortly.

There might not be a need for the 25.5 hp in a sub compact but it's coming out.
Maybe Kubota wants to stay ahead of the other sub compacts out there like the JD or the MF. More Hp and metal body parts Kubota might have a huge edge over the others.
If History is any guide it's time for a change.

The BX 22 came out in 2002-2003 the Bx 23, 2004-2005 the Bx 24, 2006-2007 the Bx ?? 2008-

I don't know why everyone is getting so upset just for the thought of it.
I just wanted to know if anyone else had any other information on it.
But from the tone of the replies I guess I hit a nerve.
Lets just wait and see what happens.

Neil, you are expressing a personal opinion and trying to make it sound like fact; obviously Kubota's senior managers disagree with you.

I do. I want to be able to run a more powerful chipper and generator from the same sized tractor. So I respectfully disagree with the opinion you express.

Okay :).

New Holland is coming out with a still larger model now, 28Hp I think. Its the HP race that annoys me. While these tractors maybe generating more HP, its likely that they have less torque which really translates into nothing for most real tractor applications.
