I have had a 75" Meteor blower since '98. It works very well. I live east of Buffalo, NY. The (optional) skid shoes are a big help on my gravel drive, although they reduce the effectiveness of the blower on minor snowfalls.
I have found the weakest part of my blower to be the unshielded chain drive for the auger. I got a rock in between the chain and auger sprocket last year, and spent about $100 in parts replacing the chain, auger sprocket, and chain drive bearing. Other than that I have had no problems with it.
I generally switch to a rear blade late in the season, after Lake Erie freezes and the lake effect snow stops, because the blower is not that great for ice, slush, or less than 3 inches of snow.
