I noticed the 4WD was not working on my 1995 MF1250. Upon inspecting underneath, I noticed the drive shaft from the transmission had come disconnected from the shaft going into the front differential. There appears to be a connector that slides forward and holds the two shafts together. I cannont get that piece to slide forward. And if it does what keeps it from slipping off again? Sorry about my lack of proper terminology, but I am new to the world of tractors. Thanks for any help.

I've seen this before, their is usually a split ring, and a collar that retains this item in position, by the looks of what your describing, you sheared a pin, need a picture to make sure and also make sure you have all the part numbers in this area, these parts are not expensive, however, you do have to be exact.
