MF 40 industrial

Hi I have just bought a MF 40 industrial with a shuttle shift and I cant make it move forwards or backwards. Does any one know how to drive one? there seems to be 2 pedals on the left hand side and 2 pedals on the right hand side. the seems to be 2 gear levers

G'day Ragalac and welcome to TBN can you post some pics of the setup but i am guessing that you have a six speed g/box ( 3 speed and hi/lo) that is what your two gear levers are you will need to have both of them engaged for the fwd/rev shuttle to work. As far as the pedals go you prob have a foot throttle and brake and a loading brake that disengages the trans when you use it without moving the shuttle lever, sometimes they can stick and keep the unit in neutral i have freed them by operating them a few times with my size 11 and a bit of good luck. Keep us informed of what happens and good luck

Hi there,we have a MF 40 industrial too and at first had troubles.

The right side has something that looks like a stirrup or 'U', if you push on the left it is reverse and right is forward...I think.:laughing:

Anyway that is how the shuttle shift works.

The middle is simply a foot throttle but won't make the tractor move.

On the left side is the two brake pedals.

As to the gear levers,the left (longer) lever is....hi-lo I think(going by memory here as the tractor is 300+ miles away) and the right lever is the gear.

The tractor seems a good one,at least in our case.

My issue is working out the three point hitch/draft control but I think I have it figured out....push the draft control all the way up and THEN set your three point hitch...

Oh and runnig over things and getting flat tires....:laughing:
