MF 135 Z134 Continental, MF 1660 Cab
Site shows the 1526, 1528 is not on the list of tractors to review but it does still show up on their spec sheets. Have seen 1526 prices on tractorhouse around 16K. Anyone had the opportunty to sit on one and put it to the test at a dealer yet?

Hello Mike476,

This model is unique in several ways. It is somewhat larger than a 1523 but has the same drivetrain as the 1529 (Iseki E3CD 1.5 litre) so the power to weight ratio is very high for this tractor class. Other standard features include a 3 range hydro trans with side by side pedals, cruise control, electro-hydraulic rear pto, extra loader supports at the rear axle, a right side step, class 2 sized front axle and R4 tires (25x8.50-14 6 ply), rubber isolated platform, provisions for 2 sets of remote valves, 12" ground clearance with R4 tires, a fully adjustable suspension seat, and 90" of lift height with the factory L90 loader. This model also comes standard with the "autodrive" feature, whereby the hydro pedals also control the engine speed at a progressive rate to match ground speed or load. This feature is really nice, especially for loader work. The 1526 was designed to meet the demand for a class 1 size tractor posessing the power and comfort of a larger and heavier class 2 machine. I hope this information is helpful to you. If you have any questions just let me know.

Jon

When i look at the 1526, it doesn't look much bigger than my 1423. The tractor has a 54 inch FEL, but yet its 1800 lbs. without the loader. It sure isn't much wider.

Aluminum (1423) vs more cast iron (1526) will be the biggest difference.

Thanks Jon, I'd read a post in a different string that stated we wouldn't see them until the Spring of 2012, was wondering if MF having updated their site meant they're ahead of production forecasts. I see by your profile you're a distributor, have you heard any news on when they might be showing up?

$16,000.00 seems a little pricey, I think i'd wrather have a GC to go with the 1643 I have.

Exactly why I'm interested, my wife is home now (I'm in Ontario she's home in NS) using our 135 to clear snow. For our needs I'm thinking 1643/1648/1652, too big for her to use comfortably. Original plan was to keep the 135, might be interested in trading it though if something affordable/practical were out there.

Look at the 1635 - same as a 1643, except a 3 cyl and has a slightly shorter wheelbase than the others. It has a shorter turning circle than our 1523 had, and is no where near as stiff, chassis has more flex too. Don't let the bigger size deceive you, they are nimble, and can easily out work any GC (sorry guys) out there.

The 1526 looks like a nice unit though. Sounds like they addressed alot of the 1523 short comings with it.

The first 1526 I sold was in May; it was actually an early prototype with a 2010 serial number that I used for product evaluation before it was sold. I currently have a 2011 model that I received in October. Production and shipping of 2011 models was delayed this year due to the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. From what I see in my area of the country the on hand inventory is scant but slowly improving.

I agree williamsbos, my 1423 help lift my backhoe off of my truck with pallet forks on the loader. I don't know if i would try a GC with that task, maybe with counter weight.
