MF230 VS MF231?

I have a what I thought was a 230 but Im guessing the hood was changed out. I bought another 230 and it is a little shorter and has different steer setup. google shows a 231 on the net with the small hydraulic steer cylinders and a 230 has rods.
Whats the difference in these?

Early late models of course
230 orbital steering valve with cylinders
231 is like the 240 250 series I worked on, power steering assist
Has arms that run to steering arms
230 also had small ring gear and pinion and drum brakes
The 245 was basically the same unit but wet brakes and bigger ring gear and pinion assembly
Never saw a 231 so don't know if it had wet brakes or drum
But basically the hydraulics internally are all the same just got heavier with more hp newer tractors also had ipto so went away from dual stage clutch

231 newer model, basic model of 240. UK Built. 231S was Polish.

I owned a 1998 Massey Ferguson 231 for 17 years. Was the best tractor I ever owned. I knew I’d regret selling it.
The 231 was made in Poland by URSUS under license for Massey Ferguson. It has the 3 cylinder Perkins AD3.152 diesel. 38 engine horsepower, 34 PTO horsepower. It was in production from 1989-1999. From 1989-1995, it had the square fenders. From about 1996-1999 it had the shell type safety fenders.
The 231S took the place of the 231.
