Mice

There are videos of people in Asia doing a big business in Rats. Riding a Bike to market with cages pile high with Rats. The the reataurant owner drowns them and starts chopping them apart, but one is still moving, chop, chop, chop, some laughing and no more movement. Then the kids come to eat on the patio, whatever Rat dish they ordered!

The suggestion to raise the hood on a tractor or any vehicles is correct. Rats like a dark place to store food or any thing to make a nest. Clean out the nest/debris and wash down the area with pine sol cleaner/water with a squirt bottle. The most effective thing to do is to leave a light on under or near the hood of the vehicle. This has worked for me for the past 5 years.

Moth balls and dryer sheets don't work. A great resource on mice and rats is Shawn Woods on Youtube - he tests traps and repellents every week. Shawn Woods

He does say in the video that moth balls might prevent them from nesting around them, but it won't stop them form coming to grab a quick bite.

Based on some of the other videos, I will be adding mint oil, which he seems to have good results.

are you rich enough to pay for the damage caused by mice and rats to your fellow Humans though?. if so, then it's good it was taken off the market, but someone HAS to pay for the Damage!..
no I'm not rich enough to pay for everyones problems, buy I have paid plenty for my own problems with mice. Lost a 2003 anniversary Corvette convertible with 6k miles on it to mice. Had to put a new heater box, blower and venting in my Cat 246 due to mice, had to replace a motor in my sander due to mice, ....a few other problems over the years as well... but if I had poisoned them and one of my dogs ever ate that poisoned mouse..and got secondary poisoning... I would not be even remotely worth killing the mouse that way. ..Im certainly not a tree hugger, but I do have a soft spot for defenseless animals / critters.

Birds love to nest under smaller aircraft cowlings.
One trick tried by many pilots was to leave a toy rubber snake on top of the cowling.

Once built a large stable for a client and rodents were usually a major headache due to the feed.
As a precaution I inserted a bag of rodent poison in every stud space varying brands as we went along.
They reported that it worked very well.

I leave my 290 year old house unoccupied for 6 months each year.
Thus.....traps are not an option for me.
Poison it is......and plenty of it,..... positioned everywhere!

I have 3 outside cats that keep the property clear of mice, moles and squirrels. Only problem is that cats like to walk on our cars since we don't have a garage.
