Re: Midwest Quick Hich

I like the look of it and can't wait to find out more, like price and availability.

Thanks again for checking that out for us!

Re: Midwest Quick Hich

Maybe this pic isn't the "new" quick hitch, but it looks like the lever to dis-engage and engage (un-lock and lock) the hitch is too far away from the operator to easily reach from the tractor seat. Whereas that may not be true, but I don't think it will be very easy, I'll be interested in what the users think when they try them out.

Re: Midwest Quick Hich

Maybe I'm missing the point, but, what's the purpose of the balls? What function do they serve?

Re: Midwest Quick Hich

Do you mean to say he travelled all the way to the show and never checked to see that he had the proper items to display? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif If this were a computer show that would be called "Vaporware". I'd better watch out, my cynical side is flexing its muscles.

Re: Midwest Quick Hich

DocHeb,
THAT hitch will work with ALL of Midwest's equipment. They are made to exact Cat.1 standards. Other manufacturers don't make them exact, so this hitch will not work. Midwest makes the one with a little "play room" for such equipment, but that's not the one I pictured above. I wanted to see the one that might work for me, but it is basically the same except for the lower hooks, it locks onto the lift pins versus the spherical balls.
Now, for the purpose of the balls.....? You'd have to ask JimMc. I have no idea.

Re: Midwest Quick Hich

With the balls out does that let you hook up to cat 2?

Re: Midwest Quick Hich

The balls are simply alignment bushings with flared guides to help guide the implement onto the hitch.

The hitch is also available with hooks made to fit straight bushings making alignment less critical for folks not blessed with implements exactly matching the Cat 1 spacing spec, but it will be a few weeks until our source has them machined for straight bushing applications. The hitch works perfectly with all Midwest and Kioti implements but the spacing is too critical for some of the "Brand X" implements we tried. One would fit and then the next from the same company would be wider or narrower, thus the straight bushing idea.

The handle can be reversed, making it easier to reach from the seat. The hitches are available from Kioti dealers in orange and from Midwest in gray, green, blue, red, and yellow.

The top and tilt system was to be installed on a show tractor, but much to my dismay, that model tractor wasn't available at Louisville, although had I thought of it, there were other vendors there with a Kioti model that would have worked. Had I taken the system to the Tulare show, I would have had 2 to choose from. But I did get to run it off the tractor for a few interested folks. Trying to get a video clip of it installed and running up on the web page by month's end. It has not been decided as to whether this system will be available from Kioti only, or if it will also be a Midwest labelled product also, but it will most certainly work with other machines.

Thanks to all the folks who stopped by and made the week shorter by visiting.

Have we seen the "new" quick hitch yet? Seems I recall that the wrong one showed up at the Louisville Show. Are there pics out yet on the new one? Anybody know?

Re: Midwest Quick Hich

The last word that I got from Jim Mc was the May timeframe for hitch availability.
I promissed that I would not bug him anymore until then so I am very anxious to
hear something, but I will abide by my promise.

According to Jim they were waiting for a part to be built. Hope it istill on schedule,
since I really need this thing shortly.

Re: Midwest Quick Hich

It was on display at Louisville and at one of the later Farm Shows as well, maybe Oklahoma. The new top and tilt was a big hit at Oklahoma too. It is not available as of yet, that I know of. No recent information from Jim on it. I too, thought I was "pestering" him.
Sure will let people know, when there is some news to report.
