I致e ran a D-3 dozer. It痴 better than a tractor and a box blade but don稚 expect to go pushing up big piles of dirt from hard pack in one pass. The D-3 is WAY more dozer than a lawn mower conversion build. I can稚 imagine a dozer of this size being anything more than a toy.
I miss my D3... put in a lot of fire trails on steep hillsides that when done would allow me to drive any car in all weather... had it 17 years... just ran out of work for it.
Now use a Deere 350C and one of the reasons we settled on the 350 is because I can move it with my truck and trailer... the 350 is like a little mountain goat... goes just about anywhere and really pulls... not near as capable for fire trails but it does get the job done...
One thing tracked equipment excels at is pulling out wheeled equipment mired in the bog...
A quadratrac jeep was stuck up to it's axles and then two CUT tractors were pulling in tandem and digging in... I moseyed on over with the D3 and it was a walk in the park... plucked all 3 like harvesting carrots.
I must have missed that Tracks and Wheels memo...seems like I got it backwards!!(I am laughing at myself here, not really disagreeing with you)
