I say don't put a minimum posting rule in place...IMO

I vote for letting the one time users in. Someone here may pick up a real bargian that way.

BUT, after a time, say maybe 6 months, their account is deleated.

When I first signed up I remember thinking all the good user names were all ready taken. And that was back when there were around 25,000 of us. Now that we are nearly 90,000 strong I imagine some folks spend quite a bit of time getting one.

Mods are doing great checking for spam/scam,and you never know TBNer just might be searching for such item.

The moderators don't actively check for spams and scams. Just too many posts for them to read them all. The TBN members do a pretty good job of policing the site and pushing the "Report Post" button, which notifies the mods AND staff at TBN to take a look at potential problem posts.

What kind of irks me (just a little, not too much, but just a little  ) is when people reply to obvious scam postings with things like "Why don't the moderators delete this garbage?" :confused2: Believe me, we would delete it if we knew about it and replying to the spammer only helps the spammer.

I would vote for letting them stay. More shopping opportunities.

Dirtroad - I've posted items for sale that took several days to approve - these guys are busy and it takes time to get to them.

I'd wager that more than a few of those that join for the purpose of selling something (or trying to solve a specific problem with their machines) end up surfing the site and becoming "contributors" and "conversationalists". I was one of these types.

I'd suggest that you keep things as-is.

I think people sign up specifically to post their ads... yes, it's a shame that some of them don't enter other discussions but I'm not sure we want to restrict the ad posts to only regular members. Or do we?

What he said.........Get it?........The posts themselves will become spam if there is a minimum. Do you want brainless posts, just so folks can get their numbers up?
