Missing 777

777 has three times the range of 727 and much greater payload. However, 727 has short field takeoff and landing advantage, is smaller, and easier to hide (relatively speaking). Also, you can refuel a 727 over the wing, while you can't with a 777 (that I know of). Anyhow, I wouldn't think anyone could hide a 777 that easily for that long. But it would make a good plot.

It's the rear entrance that's the item. Fuel bladders. Gross load depends on what is planned. Think the drug world used them.

Still bothers me with all the different pinger locations. Should be only two at most.
As I said before. I hope this is a small crisis instead of preparation for a major catastrophe.

The different ping locations could be because of water conditions and/or that the boxes are in different locations. The plane went down in deep water and it is likely the plane broke up as it sank and fluttered its way to the ocean bottom.

Looks like the batteries finally lost power so it will most likely take awhile to find the plane. I think the plane will be found, it is just a question of how long.

Nope, the plane is probably still on the island. Too risky to move now that most intelligence (agencies) figured it out. Wonder who lost their job, or worse, for forgetting about those pesky engine transponders. Ooops, that blew the whole story about the oil slicks and crashing in the South China Sea out of the water (literally). The re-group / re-spin was sure messy. "Uh, there's no engine transponders." "Uh, we can't confirm if there are...." "Oh, gee, that info been leaked?" "I guess there are." This went on for days after the plane went missing. Like nobody at the engine monitoring/tracking company thought "Say Ralph, did you hear about that missing Boeing 777? Anybody here going to check to see when the last engine monitor signal was sent?" "Naw? Why bother?" "OK." Does that seem plausible? Heck, maybe it was shot down over the Ukraine (ala Operation Northwoods stylehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Northwoods).
