That is a heck of a job you did there. Give yourself several pats on the back!:D :D :D

If you need a place to experiment and fine tune the picker I have a place available!:)

I have though of getting an old small potato picker but doubt if my tractor could pull it.:(

How are you going to dump the box on the back when it is full of rocks?

the bottom half is hinged to open and the floor of the box is on an angle so the contents slide out

I'd be interested in seeing it work. I'm wondering if the "paddles" would "float" rather than pulling the dirt/rocks to the top. But it a great idea and ought to do a good job (just might need a "tweak" or two). I was thinking of building some kind of screen thingy just yesterday but your "contraption" is way kool.

That is a very good build. Thanks for sharing.

You might want to add some extra longitudinal pipes to the screen, which are hinged on 1 side and on the other side mounted to an eccentric wheel which is to be driven by a hydraulic motor.
They use vibrators on potato diggers, but the amount of vibration they can use is limited by the potato tendency to get bruised.
You stones dont get bruised, so the limiting factor would be the construction itself. You might be able to multiply the capacity of the screen with a vibration device by a factor 3 or 4... ;)

That is a very cool contraption :D

Hope it works well

What's your soil type? What kind of soil preparation will you do before picking the rocks, i.e. plow & harrow ? Am wondering how well the solid cutting edge will work. Had you considered a toothed cutting edge, like a rock bucket might have? Nice workmanship. Anxious to see it work. MikeD74T
