The people who brought you Agent Orange + Dioxin.

I would like to think of myself as "informed".....but apparently, I'm uninformed or misinformed.

Well that is good to expand your knowledge in different areas...obviously food production affects every single person on earth. Of course here in United States most manufactured food products is are sold to the end consumer behind a huge amount of commercialism.

A lot of isn't new, some of these documentaries date easily date back 10 years or more and many of the arguments put forth by the "anti's" as corporate shills would try to paint those with opinions contrary to a company's official propaganda line, have played out exactly as predicted. Things such as increased weed tolerance "superweeds" and stronger government sanctioned chemical mixtures along with increased applications to keep up a level of crop profitability. Even seed control, licensed ownership loss of choice is real in the world's commodity agriculture production.

There is plenty to find out and people need to make informed choices..

This is very good too.

Monsanto's Dark History 1901-2013

Some say that without chemicals we wouldn't be able to feed the world. While this may or may not be true, at some point we need to accept that growth can't continue forever.

I believe that GMO's are the biggest threat to our food supply today, in part because I don't believe
we know enough to alter what has taken nature thousands of years to develop; also because I don't think one or two companies should dominate the world's food supply.

Especially a company as mercenary as Monsanto has proven itself to be.

Having survived cancer and being cancer free now for 3 years, this was all of great interest to me post-op. If you want to edumacate yourself, look up ROUND-UP and what it is/does/etc.

As you already saw the tip of the iceberg on Monsanto, take a look at the differences between food in the USA and in Europe. It will amaze you at what the EU does NOT allow and then you have to ask WHY we do? Simple foods like crackers, etc.- check the ingredients list!

Then check out the chemicals they allow to be sprayed onto our produce...our vegetables...all to make them more "appealing" for you in the grocery store.

We want to have a hobby farm on our 32 acres. 4-5 cattle to have our own beef, 15 chicken for our own eggs and some meat (eventually we'll have to increase that #). The taste difference alone is amazing. We have 6 chickens that produce eggs already. We bought 1/2 cow from a neighboring farmer and that's been GREAT!

There's a LOT to digest... and a warning... it will turn your stomach. But cancer is on the rise for a reason, and this is just one of them!

I acknowledge this is an anecdote, but it is on point. We have a friend who was diagnosed with lung cancer and he had never smoked. The doctor told his wife that food additives are in part responsible for the increase.

Which part of my comments above is an anecdote?

Your entire post was an anecdote (a short account of a particular incident or event, especially of an interesting or amusing nature.) because it was your personal experience and your opinion.

There was a long thread a few months ago about Roundup. I suggest people search for it and not repeat it all in this thread.

I was actually referring to my comment, not yours. Scientists are not too keen on drawing conclusions based on one or two or even many more personal experiences. Kinda like smoking; doctors and dentists pretty much knew that tobacco caused cancer of the lung, tongue, mouth, lips, kidneys, etc. for 40 or 50 years before the Surgeon General's report in 1964, when they had finally gathered and analyzed enough data to conclude that indeed tobacco was the culprit. I recall reading an article in a dental journal published in 1929 in which the author unequivocally stated that tobacco caused cancer of the mouth and tongue, based on his professional experience. I know that's more information than you asked for, but actually the reason for my statement.

The problem is Montanto has judges that worked for them and people in congress as well, There is a link between roundup and autisim. There are people that are expecting the ### to sky rocket.

Click Here for the other, 13 page, thread on the same topic. It already contains all the urban legend connections to diseases, defenders and detractors of Monsanto and other chemical companies.
