That is an unusual failure spot. That is dangerious when that happens, that is a 5 lbs bullet. I have meet your contractor before, good people.

That toolholder had been damaged and repaired. a couple months ago they hit a potato plow out in a field they did not know was there, and it deformed the tool holder so they welded it up to strengthen it and went back to work.
Funny thing is it hit nothing but dirt. it was just its time to go. It was all stop, the cutter was off vbalance and vibrating, and we spent a couple hours looking for it (no luck yet).
Last night as they were finishing up the hit an unkonwn to myself chunk of steel square tube. no damage though (PHEW!).
The prior owner clearly had a penchant for leaving junk steel out in the woods
If you've met them, either you are in the same line of work, or you used to live near here, or they range farther afield to work than I knew!
