Montana tractor keeps dying

/ Montana tractor keeps dying #11
Hey thanks for that info. I have it at a tractor shop now. I explained the problem over the phone before I went through the hassel of hauling it in. It literally fired up and then shutdown while it was still on the flatbed trailer. He used his fork lift to tow it off the trailer. a week later I called for any update and he said it fires up everytime and I have ran it around the shop and lot for about 20 min. and its never clicked and died. He mentioned safety switches too but said there were several and wasnt sure which one. Cant he just change or over-ride them? Hes the mechanic... why am I having to quiz him on how to fix it? Very frustrated. But again thank you for your info. I will share it with the mechanic. LOL

Kevin, Mine is acting up similarly. If it is still at the shop, have them turn on the lights, PTO, hazard lights, etc. That might get it to act up. Although my 3840 is charging at 14+ volts at idle, I still can't have lights on with the pto or hit the brake (switch). A relay or a circuit breaker is overloading and shutting off the fuel solenoid. As soon as it dies, the lights turn back on and it fires back up. I purchased a manual, but it doesn't have the electric schematic - I don't know what components control the fuel cut off nor where they are located. Hope this helps you.
