Montana Troubles Continue

I can't speak for anyone else.
My experience with my Montana branded LS2740 and my Montana dealer is great. There have been no parts or service problems.
The deal I received was far above the other Green branded (Not US) tractor.
They forget to tell you that sometimes. :D

The attachments I've purchased (from him have all been quality products.

I'd say check out the competition then come back to Montana.

Gentlemen,

My question/concern is less whether this might be a good deal or not but more in regards to the information that has recently been posted about the Montana brand/dealers and availability of parts and tractors. I do not know the history of this brand or Branson or Farmtrac or LS (all names I have seen in this posting). As mentioned previously, this will be my first subcompact tractor. I want to ensure I am making the correct decision concerning tractor realibility and part/dealer availablity.

Montana does not manufacture tractors, they re-badge and distribute tractors made by a third party. TYM and LS have been suppliers for Montana in the past, but have since severed thier ties. Montana and Branson were set to merge last year to form one company, Branson is strong on manufacturing, and Montana has a strong dealer and distribution network. The merger fell through, and Montana is considering other suppliers right now. The product is very good and the deals are tremendous right now, but it is somewhat of a gamble if Montana does not settle with a new supplier. Parts will still be available, as the LS line is up and coming and most parts will interchange. The question is not weather or not Montana survives this economy, but if your savings will justify buying a tractor with limited or no warranty. We have sold a lot of Montanas with very little warranty work. Great Tractors, buy it, good luck

Anyone buying a Montana tractor is buying a LS or a TYM tractor.Montana is also selling some Montana limited tractors which are again LS tractors and some are Utility Ford clones(Farmtrac) tractors.
LS and TYM are directly marketing tractors so parts should not be a problem.
Looks like the era of Distributors in tractors is not encouraging.
Montana does not have any options(they would hinted their plans by now) but to liquidate and ........
Montana dealers would have better insight on the plans.
Future for Montana tractors does not look clear and bright.

Whatever their plans, they have held on (time will tell if it was the right deicison)

My dealer is in the process of switching to LS. Selling off the last of their Montanas. Part of the deal in buying my T2334 was that the parts and warrenty work would be covered by them. They are getting parts from LS with no problems and do not have to have them brought in from China or another place. 3 day delivery time for most parts. Most of the parts are exactly the same on both lines. LS or TYM parts. Both easy to get.

They haven't done any real warrenty work on the Montana machines sold though.

There should be no problem for the LS,TYM built tractors as the manufacturers are already selling in North America.
Warranty from Montana tractors may suffer and the tractors which montana tractors sold as Montana Ltd. manufactured by Farmtrac will have a problem.
Montana tractors itself has an identity and a product problem.
What will be the product line it will sell is not at all clear.
Great Uncertainity.

I heard yesterday from a businessman a few miles from Montana's Tarboro facility that the Montana's partsroom roof fell in and they are operating out of a rented trailer. Has anyone heard about that? Sounds like the beginning of the end for Montana. If it is the building I remember it was about a 5 acre building built in the 1940's.

Do you think he might have been pulling my leg? He seemed to be quite serious and said he had been at the plant. I haven't been able to get a second witness to confirm the roof collapse.
Thanks
