Jethro took granny to a drug store in Beverly Hills.

Boy was she pissed!

They didnt sell any of the ingredients she was looking for.

From that point on, granny made everyone call-it a What Not store and she smacked you if you called it a drug store.
Well, you can't find possum gizzards at just any old drug store.

I thinking about getting a second job so I can afford spinach and hot dogs ...
Been there; done that. We used to save for a month so we could have a couple of T-bones on the grill. They were about .99 cents a pound in those days.

My favorite has always been 'outside cut of a rare roast'.
Dark and spicy one side and pink on the other.

Rocket, aka arugula, aka eruca. Relative of kale and broccoli...
Eruca vesicaria - Wikipedia
Apparently, it is also called "ruchetta", "rucola", "rucoli", "rugula", "colewort", and "roquette".

Aren't dialects wonderful?

I remember a story about a kidnapper who was located because he used a very local word for the strip of earth between opposite lanes of traffic in a city. https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/503012/12-regional-idioms-‘highway-median-strip’

All the best,

Peter
