More problems with GR2110

After the problems were fixed at 40 hours and I started to really like it, today with 81 hours, I noticed a slight vibration that turned into a chatter. First I thought it was a blade loose. But it continued with the mower stopped. But only when I was moving.
Then I thought it must be the front universal. Called the dealer and made arrangements to take it in tomorrow. When I started to drive it up on the trailer I noticed the back wheels spun and the front didn't. So after I got it on the trailer I moved the front drive shaft and I think it is something in the front end. Maybe a pinon bearing or gear.
I'll let you know what I find out. I have had more trouble with this then all the other five Kubotas combined.

From what they called and told me, there is a splined coupling from the transmission to the front drive shaft. They said they think it is that coupling and front drive shaft that are bad. I guess Kubota has a kit to fix the problem so they must have had others with the same problem. Glad it is still in warranty.

And to make it worse, I loaded it on my small trailer last evening, check air pressure in tires, and had it ready to hook to the truck. This morning it was pouring rain, I hooked it up to the truck I did a walk around and the right tire was flat. Had to put it on my 16' trailer.

Don't know what I did to deserve this but it must have been bad.

Well, got it back today. They said what happened was, a couple of snap rings, that were supposed to keep the, bearing, holding the drive shaft, were not there. That let the bearing moved out of the holder and freed the drive shaft from the coupling. They replaced the bearing, drive shaft, snap rings, and coupling.
Kubota changed something on it to improve it, but added a shoulder on the new GR2120 drive shaft so it can't come loose.

Greetings Old coot,

I've been considering a GR2120, but I keep wondering if it is greatly improved or not over the 2110. Been alot of stories about the GR products of the last few years that are not encouraging.

I really like the way it mows, turns on a dime. But I don't trust it. I keep waiting for what happens next. I'm thinking of a BX, but might wait till my warranty is up.

I traded my GR2110 in on a BX2660 today. They needed to order the BX since I wanted a 54" mower and no front valve.
He gave me within $500 of what I paid for the 2110, so I figured I better go while I could. I think he feels bad about the problems I've had with it.

Hate to say this but I am sure glad I got the last G2160-60 that the dealer had and did not get sucked in to the GR2100 with all wheel drive and Glide Steer. I wll put up with the slipping tires better than the drive problems.
