Don't we have enough of them , already?? )</font>

In our town, we don't have any!!!! Police protection is almost by appointment only and that is between 7AM - 5PM... 45 minutes away on a good day, and 2 -3 days if it isn't an emergency... If you call 911 in the middle of the night, it better be for a good reason, because the staffing is very low. No traffic enforcement unless some neighbor starts to complain about the speeders, and then usually the complaining person is one of those caught speeding. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

No, we do NOT have enough police anywhere these days. When I first began driving about 1975 there seemed to be a police car around every single time I was stupid enough to bend or break the laws. And today it is almost impossible to get a law enforcement officer when you need one.

When I moved to my rural home back in '89 I was worried about crime but the road I live on is the dividing line between two townships and police cars from both cruise by frequently. It makes me feel really safe.
And get this, someone bought the vacant lot next to us last fall and he came over to introduce himself as his new house was being built. My new neighbor is a policeman himself. Good thing I am a law abiding fellow. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

i feel qualified to respond to this , as most folks would say THERE IS NEVER A COP AROUND WHEN U NEED THEM. you see my son is an officer of the law in a large western city, most times people don't like police officers, TILL THEY NEED ONE. then it is a different story ! when in trouble call the cops, then call a lawyer(got that coverd also , my daughter is a prosecuting attorney). guess i just got my hackles up, as u see my son is healing from an injury received in the line of duty. please forgive my soap box, it really has nothing to do with my original post of more snow, but here is another pic i took this mornigng , it is still snowing

Jeez Frank, you are REALLY getting hammered with the white stuff this winter. Our local paper reported that nearly six feet of snow fell on Parish from Wednesday afternoon to midday Friday, maybe you are getting some fallout from there.

I am sorry to learn of your son's injury, you should be VERY proud of his career choice. Sadly, many citizens never appreciate what the police do for them until they are not around to do it.

Sorry to hear about your son too. Many people don't realize just how busy officers/deputies/troopers are. Just because they aren't running code (lights and sirens) doesn't mean they aren't working. Sometimes they can't run code because it will screw things up. So, I know that they are busy, it's just we need more of them and that is not their fault!

On another note, I ENVY you so much with all that snow you're getting!!!! Washington is not the place to go for snow. Well, except parts of eastern WA and of course, our mountains. But I'm in western WA so /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

BILL: kind of a strange winter here, did not have one storm that dropped more than a foot of snow, just comes in drabs, 4 in here, then 8 in, the 2 in. then 6 in. just keeps comming. and we DID NOT have our january thaw. spent 2 hours today moving snow piles, picking them up and dumping , piles where so high at end of driveway was getting difficult to see when pulling out of the yard. was nice working tho, temp was mild , 23 deg. no wind. almost felt like spring. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Frank, we have the same forecast for this area. Warmed up to 36 degrees at one point, the highest it has been all year.
