[The bale spear could be carried in a pipe mounted in the manner of my shovel carrier... (right side loader arm mount). Pointed end down!!

I can understand why he wants it- I have a heavy wrecking bar hung in the barn which I have used to good effect more than once, trying to get a heavy weight box attached.

Nice mod. How is the tube attached?

Deerslayer, the tube is steel pipe, and I simply welded a couple of pieces of scrap steel channel onto it (blow up the photo to see). They have bolts into threaded holes on the mount. I welded a cupped washer (from an old shock absorber?) on the bottom, so it has a drain hole.

Probably the least expensive and most used simple addition to my Kubota is a seat cover which prevents rips etc from tools in my back pocket.

Great post! So many new ideas!

I just looked again at your picture because someone else just replied to your post here, and I wanted ask what is the purpose of the orange tape on your ROPS?

Just curious,
Thomas

I ordered the two biggest ammo cans I could find, after search around. $30 in shipping, $25 each. I didn't realize how big they would be. One is so long I can't reach the bottom. I thought it opened at either end, but no.

One is for my side by side. The other might me to big for me to fit on the tractor.
25mm and 125mm mortar.

I bought the short one to go on FEL frame by my knee. But I think it nay be to big.

Both may end up on side by side. Made my first load of wood with bucket. Probably use SxS less. Though it is nice just to buzz out quick, and can get back farther.

A foam Koozie for my beverage (that fits snugly in the holder in the cab) and a small 12 volt cooler that sits on the floor for extra beverages and a sandwich. I spend long days in a tractor.

Fabbed up an extra step to climb on my old 861D Ford. My worn out knees love it.

In the hole in the dash where the optional dash light went in 1958, I installed a 12 volt plug (diesels were 12 volt back then). I normally keep a cheap DC meter plugged in there for constant voltage monitoring, but can easily be unplugged and any number of 12 accessories could be used, like tire pumps, fuel transfer pumps, radios, lights, etc.

I added a hydraulic gauge to my pump for constant monitoring of my hydraulic pressure.

I bolted a pipe to the back of the seat so that I can drop in an old patio table umbrella for rain or sun protection when needed. The seat was also an upgrade as the old Ford's original pan seat had no back support and could have easily flip me off backwards a couple times if I had not had a firm grip on the steering wheel.

Pats EC on my tractor (2).JPG
I just recently added a set of the Pat's Easy Change hitches to my arms. I would have preferred the beefier Quick Hitch, but all my old implements are non-standard and very few have the same measurements between the pins, much less having a top-link that was set-up for a hook. This was a big help in attaching some of my heavier implements like my box scrape and bog harrow. No more pulling and tugging to get the ball & sockets and sway arms all pinned together.

Not sure if I would go cheap on DC voltmeter. A tenth of volt can tell you alot.

Well the cheap China plug-in voltmeter (I got it for $2.60 on eBay) that normally rides in the socket actually measures to the tenth and is a huge upgrade from the red generator idiot light on the dash. In fact it was the cheap voltmeter that helped me decide to convert from the 12v genny to a alternator for more volts to charge the battery at low RPMs.

My best attachment? Steering wheel knob. I use it constantly without ever even thinking about it. Holding the steering wheel feels weird now.

^^^^

(You've started another war though...) I made the same observation a ways back in this thread and there was some healthy debate on pros and cons. I am firmly in the spinner camp. One hand on spinner and other on the loader control/third function valve. Just like a video game at that point!

The only problem I can see is if the color doesn't match your tractor. That would be a faux pas. Mine matches, of course.

I do not use it when driving down the road in top gear (25mph). Tractor is far too twitchy for that.

I found a John Deere spinner knob a few years before I bought my tractor. That sealed the deal that I could only buy a John Deere tractor, buy having owned it for nearly 3 years, I still haven't put it on, though I want to. Some of the mounting bracket hardware is missing, and I haven't taken the time to make it fit!

Ya, that's probably outside of your mechanical skill set. You might just frustrate yourself.

Chains from the top link of my Kubota B7510 to the leading corners of the 4' Bush Hog. I bought the chain plates online from Sam's Bolens. The arrangement makes level control for mowing very simple, especially when I need to hop rocks from time to time in the 25 acres of young trees we tend.

The mirror idea is great. Have a set for my Ferrari but have been doing a lot of brush work and have not gotten them on for fear of ripping them off. Thinking about something to allow them to fold out of the way but have not really sat down to work out the bugs.
