Build a sandbox?

Lol, I used to have a turtle sandbox behind the house, from when the boys were little.
When an Amish crew was reroofing my house, I found out the foreman had a bunch of small kids. I gave him the sand box and a little tykes slide.
I’ll probably dump the sand in a low spot somewhere. Maybe right where it is as I want to build that area up some.

Used backhoe to get frozen wood out of the woodshed.

Also got to find place to store some old fence rails, I removed the fence between house and shed, kept the rails. The posts had rotted off.

Also got several sticks of thin wall 4” pipe to store somewhere.

Thinking of building a stand in the barn, where I can store a ton of wood pellets under, and put a pallet of lighter stuff above on the stand.

Got a bunch of stuff to get rid of in the barn also.

From what I see in this picture, I'm really wondering why you are trying to save this shed. It looks a lot worse here then it does in your other pictures.

The last pic is the woodshed, behind the lean-to that is behind the shed. This part is coming down and will be burned. The only good thing left here is the 2 pressure treated 4x4s in the ground, and they’re questionable.
Still debating what to do with the lean to part. It’s roof is tied into the shed as 1 roof, so I need to cut it off.
I’m thinking of coming down a foot for an overhang, taking an old circular blade and just saw across the roof, shingles and all, then cutting off the rafters with a sawzall. And I found out the other day my sawsall is no longer working.

In another thread I said I shuffled some junk around.

Got the wire on a pallet. Need to find a home for it.
I can get half way in the open shed now.

I must have 8 old rotors I kept as weights but never used. Old ceiling fans that quit working. Lots of empty boxes. I flatten old cardboard, put them down first then build fire on top so burning cardboard doesn’t fly away.
If you've got room to store it what's the problem?
Other than sudden death nobody else cares.

are finally approaching comfortably full after 11 years.

I just need to keep it organized for the executor of my estate.

Often some unforeseen project will pop up and with a couple of hours of looking I've got materials to finish it.

Your sand looks like it needs a concrete mixer. :)

That’s why I have it. And I have a mixer in my barn. Was going to pour a sidewalk alongside my barn, just never got to it yet.

More trash from the shed out for trash pickup tomorrow. Going to see if they take a little kids bike with training wheels. Is so, next week an old gas grill might get left for them, at least in pieces they can handle.

Who keeps piling all this stuff on our properties???? ;)
Shed still has scrap lumber inside, leftover shingles, roofing paper.
I'm glad that I'm not alone. I built a shed last year to put everything that I've been storing next to my shop, and I think I threw more of it away then I kept. Some of what I was saving really made me wonder about my brain!!!!
SAVE IT, YOU MAY NEED IT SOMEDAY!!!!
I just used a bunch of stuff I'd saved without any real plan for it:
A simple partition wall made from things I had on had.

Stairway to the second floor that I rarely use anymore (mostly storage now) was open on two side. There's a small landing and a turn before entering the main room. I had put a door up there long ago, but there was still a lot of open space and a large window (5' x 6' or so) at the top of the stairs. I could feel the heat rushing up into that cavity before it came back down and spread to the rest of the house.

Back in the day - I burned firewood and had a firewood storage shed. It wasn't that pretty but it kept the wood dry. Entire ground in the shed covered with pallets.

Then we quit burning wood. Converted that shed into a large carport for the tractor. This new carport works well also.

Thinking about a different location for the shed.
shedlocation.jpeg

Instead of behind the barn, 1 red. Thinking about location 2 blue. The back part of shed gets cut off at orange line, and the green circle is the woodshed that gets removed.

Much easier move, pull 16 ft down and 12 ft to right. This area is also fairly flat already.

Also, existing electric feed from house should reach this location.

Will put gravel down under it. Was thinking, had anyone put wire down to discourage groundhogs from digging??

I've never had much of a problem with the little bastards. My neighbor got them in his loafing shed. He trapped them. Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in.

Nice Drone pic!!!

Not much time for shed today, but got a little more trash out, got bad rotting firewood on a pallet to move it. Had to work on a car.

I do like the new proposed location, and existing electric cable will reach it. Need to order gravel to put down as a base.

Lot of junk removed from the shed today. Only filled 1 trash bag so far, but a bunch is now outside. To fill a few more.
Too windy to burn.
I took 10 gallons of old motor oil to recycling, thought I only had 5 more left. Today I found 18 gallons under stuff in the back left corner.
I got right side cleared out today also. Still got a lot of lumber pieces in there.
It’s getting close to the point I need to get skids under and see if I can move it.
First I need to cut the back lean to off, which means putting a couple poles in the ground and a header to hold it up, then cut across the roof. Also need to remove light in lean to fed from shed.
I want to see if I can drag it with my tractor before I put a gravel pad down.

Hadn’t done anything with the shed for a couple weeks. A week ago we had 6” of snow. Nice day today, so I took off early.
IMG_3988.JPG

Moved the spare spit rails that were piled on the bricks beside the shed, and some pipe that was stored in back.
Then layed the stacks of bricks over on a pallet and got them moved. Bundles starting to fall apart, eventually I learned to put a piece of plywood between the pallet and bricks.
IMG_3990.JPG

Now to figure out where to store these.
