My wife only reads the blog occasionally, and having just had a baby is not working outside much anyways. I had actually thought about that before posting. Thanks Larro, and the garden is looking great.

Sometimes it is better to not mention everything. When I see a snake in the garden, I forget to mention it to my wife. If I did, I might lose my help picking the tomatoes and cucumbers. Larro

I do the same thing.

Shimmed one of the gate latches tonight. It works much better now.

Latch plus chains, you are not taking any chances!!

Good thing I didn't. The posts settled more than I thought they would and the latch came undone. Won't be a problem now that I have shimmed the latch, but old habits die hard.

The extra hole in the latch on the gate is to run a bolt through the gate. Take a 1/4" drill bit and drill from both sides bolt slips right in. Think you need a 2 1/2" bolt with lock nut. It will keep the latch from spinning on the gate if slammed.

Makes sense. Thanks.

Looking for an opinion... If I didn't feel like getting the bands for the water tank, would driving t posts into the ground along side the tank and strapping them at the top have a similar effect of reinforcing the sides?

I don't know anything about the tanks but what about running a 2" ratchet strap in place of each band? It seems like it would accomplish the same purpose.
