Mowing Mower Deck Stands

Thanks PeterK for taking the time and effort to post this. I don't store my MMM off the tractor so I hate to spend $100 on stands. But I'm getting too old and feeble to manhandle the mower when I take it off to service it,sharpen my blades, and clean the underneath.

Your solution would be perfect for me. Thanks again.

Why can't you just remove the vent nut and replace it wjth a non vented one for the winter??? Just hang the vented one on the drive shaft w/wire so you'll remember to replace it when it's time to mount the deck.

I was so surprised by this great idea that I raced outside to the garage to check the deck, only to be surprised and reminded that it is on the Bota at the moment...

I just finished the scheduled service on my MMM and used the stands I made from the instructions and example given by PeterK.

What a difference. Much better and easier with the MMM on a stand.

Materials list:
2- 3/4 x 12" hex bolts
4- 3/4" washers
2- 3/16 x 1 roll pins Lowe's
4 - hitch pins TSC
4- 4" plastic wheels for 3/4 axle McMaster
2- Cat 01 adapter sleeve from 3/4" id to 1" od TSC

The wheel on the left (in photo) is fixed with a washer and roll pin. The sleeve fits inside the mower anti-scalp mount and is secured through deck, sleeve and bolt using the Kubo pins. The right wheel is secured between two hitch pins. I used a wider wheel than others I've seen to make it more stable.

Do you have a part number for the wheels you used?

I just bought a set with the 5" wheels for my Kubota BX2200 60" mower deck. I have to say I'm very pleased with them. They arrived quickly, well packaged and I'm impressed with the quality. Took me less than 5 minutes to install them and get my deck safely stowed against he wall of my garage, freeing up a whole lot of space. Also, it will be much easier to work on the deck, remove and sharpen the blades, etc.
