good point...my automotive instructor in my youth said, "1st, look under the hood in the dark for ign problems", often overlooked

Ive loved my commercial Hustler for the past 5 years 👍
I have a 2005 Hustler Super Z that I bought new and it is still going strong, I cut about 4 acres weekly and usually double cut the lawn. Takes about 3 hours to double cut everything. Hustler gets my vote for quality of cut and reliability...

Exmark
Deere
Hustler

Observe what the pros in your area are running, you’ll never go wrong copying them.

I think Exmark is the most popular-probably for good reason. Skag is another top commercial mower. I cut a hundred lawns a week for years. I am well pleased with the Hustler brand and would buy again if the need arises...

2010 Gravely Pro Turn HD 160. Still going strong. I think Gravely make a great mower. If I were to buy new though, I would strongly consider the Ferris with suspension. My back is not in the best shape and I would like to take some of the jolts off it.

If the quality of cut is so good, why do you have to double cut? Not trying to be a wise a$$, just curious

So quick scan did not reveal details of what little I have learned so here it goes.
I bought a Gravely 48", wish I didn't overthink it and got the 52".
Why a Gravely? Because my local tractor dealer in Shiner and treats me well.
Having said all that here is what I learned. The first time it slung a belt, wow what a deal.
Once in the barn, saw how accessible the two belts really are.
A rope with a good handle to remove tension spring and reinstall belt and done!
Now, over time have tried to help a guy with same issue on a scag. The undercarriage on many others are so packed that field re-installs can be really difficult!
So will you be taking it in for service or are you a DIY guy?
Look at you own weight, slops on property and then look at the lb-ft of the Hydros on the mowers.
The ZT2800 would not have the torque to haul me back up a slopes we have on our property.
Mine has the ZT3200 and I service them, easy peasy to do.

Hope this tidbit helps.
Be well all...
