Mr. Funnel?

OK, so you run 5 gallons through the filter and get, let's say, a half cup of trapped stuff!

How does a tractor handle this if you are not using a Mr. funnel? I mean, won't the filter fill up with water after every few gallons of use

In any case, I guess I'll be ordering one.

Here is a good one for you to digest. If you add a fuel additive to the diesel like Power Service or some other fuel conditioner that prevents gelling, it will do the same thing that isopropyl alcohol will do for gasoline. It will bond with the molecules of water and allow them to pass right through the Mr. Funnel membrane. So......If you filter untreated diesel in the Mr. Funnel, you are okay. If your fuel is treated in any way with a dispersant agent the Mr. Funnel is no good. On that note, my bulk supplier adds a dispersant to their fuel in their bulk storage facility. That is a pretty common practice with suppliers in the north where temperature changes cause condensation in the storage tanks.

Wow. That is very interesting. Where did you get this information from? It's almost like the funnels are useless then (in certain cases).

That information came right from the literature that accompanies the Mr. Funnel. The rest of the information came from my fuel supplier, Barron Oil Company, Monroe, Michigan.

It states right in the pamphlet that comes with the funnel that the funnel is useless in separating water from fuel that has been treated with a dispersant agent.

If I had a flatbed scanner, I would scan the pamphlet and load it on this site. You will have to take my word for it. That is, until you get your own and read the accompanying literature.

Okay , ,now i'm confused . I use Stanadyne on my PSD and tractor . I add it to the tank before refueling the truck or the fuel cans . So, will the MR Funnel be useful to me ?

I am not aware of the contents of the Stanadyne product. read the label to see if it indeed has a dispersal agent. If it does, the Mr. Funnel will not seperate the water from the fuel.

LOL ! Maybe they do ! But they make a pretty good diesel additive as well ! It adds Cetane to winter fuel and emulsifies water . Hence my question . if I refuel AFTER adding Stanadyne ... will Mr Funnel be worth it ? John
