Mulcher Heads....What you runnin and WHY?

I thought that Cimaf could only sell excavator heads and could not sell any for skid steers or CTL's..... I know that they lost the lawsuit with gyro trac. Did something happen that I missed?

Cimaf has came out with generation 3 heads the rotor is slightly different from the cimaf/gyro trac rotor. So there suppose to be able to sell the gen. 3 in the states.

Sorry if I posted some mis-information. What do the new gen 3 heads cost?

I'm always amazed to see how facts often get distorted or reduced. So, to get things straight:

1. See in attachment the joint press release that Gyro-Trac and DENIS CIMAF issued back in December 2008, after they settled their dispute. The extra subtleties of the contract that was then signed are confidential.

2. I would like to invite anyone who receives partial information - such as what tuckinlugz received - to send me an email at frederic.denis@deniscimaf.com, giving me details of what they were told, and by whom.

3. As for the generation-3 heads, they are pre-production models using a completely new technology, different from the "technology developed by DENIS CIMAF" at the time of the signature of the settlement agreement.

I believe that I read this information on this site. I re-read the letter in your post as it seems like does say that DF can not make heads that attach as front mounted units ie skid steers etc. using their technology.

As for making a "new" technology, I was unaware of this.

Thanks for the info!

Anyone have an opinion on skid pro rotary cutters? skidpro.com

297 just run the 180D although the motor is a little small it works just fine. I ran one on my 148 for a year and no problems at all. The motor runs out of displacement pretty quick so the difference between min and max are not as apparent as with the smaller hp machines but it worked for us.

Robbie, told me it was impossible to run the 180d on the rayco without causing damage to the motor on the 180d. Did u upgraded the pulleys? Are U still running the cimaf on the 148? Bet it's amazing on it, got any videos of it running would love to see it in action with the 148.

Nope pulleys and all the same. The 148 doesn't put out nearly as much hyd flow as advertised all the time. It ran fine, like I said it would have been nicer to have a 160-180 cc motor but they don't fit in the housing. You are definitely stretching the 107 on there but..... It's up to you. It does cut very good on the 148.

The 148 burnt this spring so it's not running no more but it was a nice little machine. It had its issues same as them all but that's not the topic here. I don't intend to replace it as I have no use for any machine under 250 hp any more. Good luck.

Thanks, hope all goes well

Note taken and sent to engineering. That should not be difficult; the 160 cc option being already available for the DAH-150E. Thanks for the comment!

Hey let me know wat the engineering department says

All there will be left is dust they chip so fine already lol. I'd like to see a chipper tool that never needs to be sharpened, never breaks or chips too lol.

Fred give me a call when the boys figure out a way to mount that 180 in the housing or how about mounting another 107 on the other side and offsetting the mount ? Hmmm :)

Twin 107's man that would be awesome like your way of thinking

Sorry for the late reply, I've been busy with posting the job offers - and we still have to post the one for the US attachment reps positions...

I will get back to you on the 160 cc in a DAF-180D frame. If it doesn't fit in there as is, then it means a new frame would need to be built.

As for a twin 107 cc version, we already have it in the DAF-225E (88-in cutting width). If there is need for such setup in a 74-in cutting width model, we'd probably want to offer it in the form of the heavier-duty 180E/180E3 (bigger drum storing more energy + drive shaft resting on its own set of bearings).
