Multi ripper attachment

This is the start of a multi ripper attachment I am working on. I will be using the forks on my PT along with a 2 inch hitch setup. Not sure how well this will turn out, but since I have no welding equipment this is how I plan to go about it.

If it takes the stress of digging around tree stumps trenching, pulling up rocks and such then I will make other interchangeable attachments for it, such as an electric winch, towing adaptor and so on. I will update when it is done.

Just an update for anyone interested . I rigged my ripper attachment to the forks today, to see how strong the tube would be... plenty strong. I also ordered a shorter tube for closer work. It has a pin at the base to change to the shorter tube, and one at the front for other attachment plug in's, and a boom.

Since I don't have any welding equipment, this was the only way to test it out. I will be looking for a local welder in the next few weeks to weld this to an attachment plate with bracing. It will be great for trenchs, pulling up rocks and roots. First picture.

Here's another tree stump that needs to come out. I just clawed around it to see what it would do. Since I don't have a mini hoe yet, this will come in handy around here until I can make one.

I took the truck into town and had someone help me load this 300 pound tree trunk into the back. I do rustic wood working, and plan to make a table out of this for my down stairs.

I used the PT, and forks to lift it out of the truck. I had to rest it against this tree to keep the the hydraulic bleed off from letting it down... while I took the picture. It's hard to tell from this picture the size of this thing, but I can tell you first hand it's really heavy.

Do you think the ripper could be rigged up so that it will dig along the tire line or offset? This would be very helpful in tight areas such as fench line.

Sure you could, would just be a matter of mating the right hitch tube with the right hitch elbow they make all kinds and angles. If you look at the picture on my second post of this thread you can see one setting on the work table I bought, that could be used for off set of the main tube.

You could probably use your fork like I did and mount it off to one side, but I'm not sure how strong the weld on the fork is for this kind of continued use.

As I said, I plan on having mine welded to one of my attachment plates. I bought most of my tubing, and hitches from Northern Tool.

Here is a guy who sells on Ebay. He makes attachments that clip on to your bucket a little exspensive but, very handy.

You would have a convenient way to clean out along a fence line by just attaching to your LMB or your Rock bucket. Link below.

Not a problem, just a few other ideas. I will be using mine with an optional shorter tube, the longer one will be for more of a boom and tree skidder.

I'll also be making other attachments such as a plug in broom for my driveway, rock rake, winch, hitch and will be looking for material to make more of a scoop to go with the ripper for cleaning shallow trenches.Since I don't have a mini hoe yet, it may also serve as a light digging tool.

just as an added note, if you’re thinking about making your own. I bought the ripper tooth which I think is just a box blade tine for a tractor 3 point, at Tractor supply. If you have one near you.

The clevis mount to attach it to, from Northern Tool. I had to drill through the end of the tube so it would mount upright. If you have welding equipment I’m sure you could do all of this much cheaper.

I added another attachment that seems pretty handy. I used a shorter tube this time and made a trench maker/cleaner to go with my ripper attachment.

For now, I am still using the forks as a base for testing these. I decided to go ahead and just dig up this stump by the driveway. I'm real tired of looking at it. A few pictures of the work, and trencher. First one of the trencher/digger.

Last one of attachment and 24 inch tube. I also used this to dig a trench and bury some cable going to an outside yard light I made.
