Murphy's Laws of Tractors

Yep, had a neighbor that left all the keys in their tractors and 4 wheelers, a few years ago several were stolen while they were on vacation. Insurance said sorry about yer luck and paid nothing because the keys had been left in them.
Why would anyone tell the insurance company the keys were in it? :confused3:

No idea, my guess is they saw the keys hanging in the equipment that was still there.

It's interesting but fogotten concept in modern times, it's called honesty.
I really don't think it should matter with respect to leaving a key in... maybe not smart but where do you draw the line. If you leave a door or window unlocked, then insurance should deny you? If you didn't physically try to stop the thief? But if the thief injures himself on your property, he can legally sue? Let's punish the criminal not the victim.
My :2cents:

Wait....? The key comes out of it? I've never even thought of trying to remove it! Why would you take the key out? You have thieves out in the farm?

Where we live, all vehicles and equipment have keys in them. I've always said that if you need to drive out here to steal my stuff, you must need it more than me and I've got good insurance.

I'd kind of like it if my B2650 were stolen, I would go buy a large L or an MX with heated and cooled cab!

There is a boys home not far from where we live. The owner/operators of the home feel is a good idea to remove troubled boys from the city and put them just down the road from me. Because of this, there have been some issues with troubled teens on our property and our neighbors property. All I need is to have one of them playing around on my tractor. I keep the cab doors locked and the key inside on its hook. Cheap insurance.

When you tell yourself "I can make it down that steep slope without getting stuck" you can't.

Lynch pins placed on the ground while changing an implement magically become invisible within seconds.

Just tell the insurers the keys are in so that in case of fire you can move it to a safer place in order to save them from paying U for a new barn.

I have a bad habit of setting them on the tire, then moving the tractor to the next implement. That's why I keep several extras in the tool box.

Buy some magnets and stick them around where you have pins.
