Music: Wireless Headsets: Ipods what do you guys do for Music?

I use my iPod while mowing pretty often. I put ear plugs in my ears, then a light set of cheap headphones over them that hooks over my ear and hangs around the back of my neck. I can still hear the tractor and some tunes but am not doing any damage to my ear drums. I put the iPod on shuffle and lock it, then stick it in my pocket. I pull the cord all the way out of my pocket, then buckle the seat belt, so the cord is free and doesn't tug while I'm moving my head around.

I wish there was a version of the 3M Peltors with bluetooth instead of the AM/FM/aux input.

I think there is a valid point in being able to hear the engine and in some cases the only indication something needs your attention is the sound you get from the machine and sometimes the people that see the problem you cannot and hollar out to you to get your attention. With that said, when I bush hog or cut grass I use a pair of polk audio active noise cancelling ear buds which connect to my phone via wire. I run the wire up my back and out through my collar so it is not in the way. I put the phone in my right hand leg pocket on my overalls. I have the ability to mute the audio input and "hear" the ambient sounds via the microphone as well as kick the sound level down 10db. When a call comes in my phone swaps the audio stream out for the phone call. When the call is over the phone brings the audio stream back and we are off to the races.

While not wireless, I love my Marshall Headphones I picked up at BestBuy. I have used the factory iPhone earbuds for years never considering a full earmuff style, but after trying them in the store I was sold. I used them all winter for different things, and they really shined this spring when I used them on the tractor for the first time. I keep the phone in my pocket where it is safe, and run the cord up my shirt in the back to keep it from snagging, works great!

The jabra died. Sony makes a stereo bluetooth wireless similar to the Jabra with an FM radio and again lets you swap in your own earbuds.

However I have found a distinct problem with the Sony SBH50

It is so darn small I lost it for about 3 months.

While tractoring I listen to music and audible books. I use the LG Electronics Tone Pro Bluetooth Stereo Headset
under my ear protection.

Music of choice: Willie Nelson, BTO and Santana
Books of choice: Usually anything on the civil war or Tom Clancy
