MX5100 shredding

for those of you wondering if a mx5100 can handle a 3pt 6ft shredder in heavy shredding the answer is yes.i run in low at 1800 to 2000rpms.an the shredder goes through anything i ask it to.you need to run at 2000rpms for heavy stuff an drive slow.

I sure believe it, I ran a Land Pride RCR2672 on our L5030 through the same stuff as our M8540 with a Woods DS1260 and the MX seems a bit more robust. I ran 2250 I think with the 8540 and about 2600 or so with the 5030.

i dont like the blades spinning at 540 because i dont know what i could hitt.but its a great tractor for everything i ask of it.

I also would think so. I have two smaller Kubotas that'll shred everything the tractor will push over.

I get a better cut and smaller pieces running at PTO speed; often cut saplings, brush etc. and the cut looks cleaner on grasses.

I use an rcf2772 with mine. I always run at or near pto speed for a better cut and higher ground speed. Usually cut in 5th or 6th gear depending on conditions.

The mx5100 has plenty of power for a bigger cutter but I settled on a stout 6ft model due to cost.
