MX5200 Engine Problem

Not shure, Some changes to the venting system I think .

Rabcon- Was there anything unusual before you started the engine, like snow and ice around the engine compartment? Or it was cold but dry?

Nothing out of the ordinairy , just was out side and pluged in to keep the engine block heated. The temp was -8 that morning.

That's too bad, I was hoping you were gonna say there was some additional factor....

Scary stuff, been there, done that on a truck diesel.
In my case, it was the injection pump, so disconnecting the fuel line did the trick.
If your going to block the air intake, use a block of wood, as stated earlier, it will suck just about anything in the intake.
Once it starts on feeding from the oil however, blocking the air intake is the only way,
if you can't do that for some reason, she'll run until there's no more oil and blow the engine.

I can tell you this, now that this has happened to you, you'll have this in the back of your mind for quite some time. Also, depending on how long the engine has been revving high, it could be dangerous to start playing under the hood.

Might give you peace of mind to fabricate or have something stout to block the air intake completely and leave it on the tractor. Likely you will never need it but it will be there to make you less nervous.

I agree, I know I now keep a block of wood in my truck. "never put your hand over an intake to smother the air flow.

Stop at the dealer today, and they got the ok from Kubota to order a complete new motor, computer, and exhaust system. Now they are working to locate the parts and get them here .That is nice to have a Dealer with GREAT SERVICE !!!
