Good that you're confirming fitment before you get very deep into the rebuild, nothing worse than delays once you get a rhythm going.

That's precisely why I'm trying to work out all the little details (parts, paint, tools, etc...) now, because if experience has taught me anything, it's that one can never be too prepared. It's time consuming and often tedious work that seems to take forever, but the results are worth it. :)

I won't start a job like yours until I'm confident I have the 95% solution to everything, there's always that 5% that you hope won't cause additional expense or time once you feel your ready, but that's part of the challenge of doing a project like yours. :hissyfit:

One definitely has to expect the unexpected. Just look at how my project evolved from a valve job into a complete restoration. It's part of what makes it fun, expensive, but fun. :)

that's why I like hardened or catylized paint. most of it is gas resistant.

And that 5% turns out to be no problem at all. That is usually what happens to me.

After getting the runaround, I finally got a straight answer from Eastwood about their Aluma Blast spray paint, it's not gasoline resistant so it will be of no use to me. They even had the nerve to try and sell me clearcoat. Sorry, but I'm not spraying clearcoat on my carburetor and distributor bodies, only to have it yellow over time. Been there, done that..

The Aluma Blast spray paint I ordered from Eastwood via Amazon.com arrived today. The product description for the paint was misleading and Eastwood shipped it despite my request to cancel the order a full day before it shipped. After a prolonged exchange of emails with Eastwood and having to get Amazon involved, Amazon agreed to give me a refund. I would have returned the paint but I guess the cost of return shipping wasn't worth it to them so I now have a can of spray paint that I can't use.

You won't believe what came in the box along with the can of paint and shipping invoice. I've never seen anything like this before, but there was a Geico ad, a Sleep Number bed ad, a "fake coins" ad, and one of those "win a car" sweepstakes ads. Seriously, when I order something, it does not make a good first impression of the company I ordered it from if I see a Geico ad bundled with my order because I see enough of those darned things on TV.

Yup, shippers are throwing in adds. More crap for the landfill. Thanks for the help on my cooling system.

I haven't done much work to my tractor lately because I'm on a tight budget and have to wait on the money I'll need to purchase various items (parts and tools) plus get the machine shop work done to the flywheel and connecting rods. The engine rebuild kit was an unexpected expense which threw my budget off a bit.

However, I've recently finished painting the radiator and have begun working towards replacing the front transmission seals. Cleaning the bellhousing was fun. Now if I can only find some clean 5 gallon buckets to drain the hydraulic oil into, I have some around here somewhere, if I can find them. Later, I'll post some pictures of my progress.
